Photocalypse: I'm On A Boat!
http://photocalypse.blogspot.com/2009/05/im-on-boat.html
Saturday, May 2, 2009. I'm On A Boat! Sailboat regatta on Folsom Lake. That's right, and it went a little something like this. Like that, which is to say that I got to ride on a boat. Unfortunately, it was the one day that there just happened to be an unseasonable downpour. When it's raining, the last place you want to be is surrounded by water, with no place to hunker down. Probably a city council meeting about drive-by stabbings. Man, life on a boat is a sweet life indeed. View my complete profile.

I'm a Wannabe Food Critic: 03/01/2009 - 04/01/2009
http://kararothenberg.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
I'm a Wannabe Food Critic. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Cafe 15, Oakland. Wow, what a find! The potatoes in the hash were soft and perfectly cooked. The fennel sausage was flavorful and melded everything together into a filling, delicious meal. My oyster po-boy had three gigantic fried oysters on a soft, buttery roll and came with a crunchy, fresh cabbage slaw. Cafe 15 is located at 597 15th Street in Downtown Oakland, between Clay and Jefferson. They are open Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Photocalypse: Rollin' With the Air Force
http://photocalypse.blogspot.com/2007/06/kickass-day-at-office.html
Thursday, June 7, 2007. Rollin' With the Air Force. Working in "The Biz," you get both your good and your bad days. Some days you get to cover a kickass story where you get to go places and experience things that few others ever will. Then there are days where you spend hours covering a cat fashion show. Well today I was fortunate enough to be handed a story that can be filed into the Kickass. After the mission, the fun wasn't over! We were introduced to this bad boy:. Photocalypse: The Great Rose Bowl Adventure: Take Two
http://photocalypse.blogspot.com/2012/01/great-rose-bowl-adventure-take-two.html
Saturday, January 7, 2012. The Great Rose Bowl Adventure: Take Two. For the past three years, I have started each new year with an adventure. Journeys that were meant to demonstrate all that is right and true in the world. Voyages into the unknown that were intended to start the year off on a high note. It's been rough. Oregon vs. Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. Oregon vs. Auburn in the BCS National Championship. But finally, after years of torment, the Ducks pulled it off. And it was glorious. I go on adve...

Photocalypse: Flying High Again
http://photocalypse.blogspot.com/2009/09/flying-high-again.html
Monday, September 14, 2009. I like covering air shows. Well, really I like doing things that I know other people don't get to do. It's one of the perks of working in a high stress industry like this one. A few years back, when I was still a young buck fresh on the Sacramento scene, I got to go on a fly-along. So this year, when the air show came to town, I was quick to jump on the chance to get back out there. While my interaction with the Thunderbirds was limited to a one-on-one pilot interview.

Photocalypse: Mitt Comes to Town
http://photocalypse.blogspot.com/2010/03/mitt-comes-to-town.html
Saturday, March 13, 2010. Mitt Comes to Town. You know that guy that wanted to become president, and looked kinda like a president, but didn't become president, mostly because he was just full of hot air? Yeah, that guy was in town yesterday. Mitt was hangin' around the local Borders to sign his new classic, "No Apologies". He was met with a hoard of fans. or supporters. or whatever. Which is to say that there was a lot of old white people weaving through the isles of book shelves that day.

Photocalypse: California's Burning
http://photocalypse.blogspot.com/2008/07/californias-burning.html
Sunday, July 6, 2008. Yes, it's true. California, the greatest state in the union, is on fire. Like, really. No foolin'. It's on fire, and help is needed. It has long since past the point that firefighters can hold the lines on their own, and the good governor has called for help. In battling these wildfires. I think Mr. T said it best in a classic A-Team episode: "We need this here chopter, and we need it now, sucka! With "chopters" a-plenty, the California National Guard stepped up to the challenge.

Photocalypse: High Flyin' Fear Factor
http://photocalypse.blogspot.com/2012/04/high-flyin-freak-out.html
Monday, April 23, 2012. High Flyin' Fear Factor. Working in the wild world of photojournalism brings with it many adventures, and it's not for the faint of heart. Being a career adventurer, few things have managed to phase me over the years. but Friday's outing had me sweating a bit. Let's back up. Somebody's gotta take to the sky. Get to the choppah! Like many stations in these tight times, ours does not own a helicopter, so we rent one as needed. Today they rented this little guy, and I mean little.

Photocalypse: Shuttle: Out.
http://photocalypse.blogspot.com/2012/09/shuttle-out.html
Friday, September 21, 2012. After navigating through traffic for almost an hour, huffing it six city blocks with hefty gear, and climbing atop the second tallest building in town, I was able to witness a lil' bit o' history. I was fortunate enough to have a front row seat for Endeavor's trip across the Golden State, which was just as awe-enspiring as one might imagine. Seriously, it was pretty freakin' cool.
