Dorsal fin landmarks used in this guide. The image shows the positions of the fin types that are highly prized in trade: the first dorsal, paired pectoral fins and the lower lobe of the caudal fin. The lower lob is the only part of the caudal fin that is valuable in trade (the upper lobe is usually discarded).
