Michelle's Blogs: Intro to Poetry. So I believe this is the last blog for our poetry class! So out of this lengthy poem, I wanted to focus more on two specific stanzas: 15 and 16 (or lines 43-48). Is an art, like everything else. I do it exceptionally well. I do it so it feels like hell. I do it so it feels real. I guess you could say I’ve a call.”. I feel that the next stanza pops out and when I was reading it, an alarm went off in my mind thinking, was this one of Plath’s cry for help? I think the main...

Michelle's Blogs: Intro to Poetry. I am a runner. I’ve been running since about 5th grade, and did competitive running all four years in high school for cross country and track. “The Runner,” by Walt Whitman gives a short and simple haiku about this man running, but not any type of guy running, someone whose been doing it for a while. I compared myself to him immediately with just the brief descriptions Whitman gives. Ldquo; He is lean and sinewy, with muscular legs”. Ldquo;-he leans forward as he runs,.

Michelle's Blogs: Intro to Poetry. In regards to content, I felt that this poem contained a lot of new terms from this chapter. For example, in the first stanza, “Listen to the coal / rolling, rolling through the cold” best fits the definition of. Ldquo;Coal” and “cold” are two words that share a related sound but are both spelled differently. The second stanza I believe has an example of. Ola, listen” is an example of. Nice one info, thx. Michelle's Blogs: Intro to Poetry. Burning for your love, ice ice baby. A little comic relief but still has some meaning, fire and ice, 2 things different but end to the same thing, the worlds end or in this case, Bella. lol. When I hear the terms fire and ice, I can interpret those words in many connotations (new vocab word, oh yeah :) ). Frost uses two opposite words that can be interpreted in numerous ways that can surprisingly, be so alike. With just the word. Ldquo;I think I know enough of hate.

Just another WordPress.com site. Alex's Intro to Poetry. Sir Tact: Mind Forged Manacles of Fear. On July 13, 2011. Here lies Sir Tact, a diplomatic fellow. Whose silence was not golden, but just yellow. 8220;a keen sense of what to do or say in order to maintain good relations with others or avoid offense.”. This can only mean that his silence did not come about because of some noble or honorable reason. So why was Sir Tact such a quiet individual? Or am I looking into this too much? On July 12, 2011.

Laquo; When I was one-and twenty. 8220;Salutation” By Ezra Pound. 8220;Triolet” by Robert Bridges. July 27, 2011. Why is it that it is so much easier holding a loved one close than it is to just let them go? In theory letting go should be quite easy; all we have to do is stop seeing and talking to them. Its a lot less work. Right? 8211;Not Right. The wounds from a loved one can run deep. When knowing this, why do we so willingly give our heart away? 8220;When first we met we did not guess. By repeating t...

Just another WordPress.com site. Alex's Intro to Poetry. Laquo; Sir Tact: Mind Forged Manacles of Fear. So few words, so many meanings. Looked forward to. “Good News”, indeed! All of this lends the Haiku a very ironic tone. This person was just born again, or given new life, yet is filled with a rush of religiously induced ecstasy at the thought of death through sacrifice, punishment and the total destruction of the human race. Rather morbid, in my opinion. Thoughts? You can leave a response.

Just another WordPress.com site. An exercise in Moral Reasoning. February 2, 2012. 3 I believe that I am a moral evaluativist when it comes to this issue. Generally, I believe that divorce is something wrong, especially for one like myself. However, for certain issues, and possibly slightly because of bias, I feel like divorce at some point may also be considered something good or bad. So, I heard you were considering divorce already. How long has it been since your marriage? January 12, 2012.

Author's Den | Where writing begins and ends
Where writing begins and ends. If I owed a person dear to me a testament, and were completely honest at the same time, perhaps this would be the fruit of my strife. She had, I say, the prettiest eyes,. So deep and blue like endless sea. Sometimes in staring I’d lose me. In vitreous blue paradise. And she, I say, did love the view,. The dusks and dawns that paint the sky:. Abundant vistas cool and high,. To me all of these things in lieu. But she, I say, in truth was blind. Could never dive below sealine.
