Wheelock, VT 05851. The plant growing methods we have always used have been referred to in the past as "organic", but since October 2002 the "O" word is not allowed to be used by farmers not certified according to USDA regulations. We choose not to be certified for a variety of reasons. How can we grow plants successfully without using any insecticides? We presently have about two acres under cultivation. We have been growing vegetables for sale (we grew them just for ourselves before that) since 1988.

Other products raised include pork, chicken, berries, maple syrup, and apples, but these are grown in small quantities and are mainly for family consumption. We sell at the Caledonia Farmers Market. In St Johnsbury. We have been a vendor at this market since 1988. We also sell shares in our Community Supported Agriculture ( CSA.

The children were educated at home starting in 1996 and continuing through their highschool years. Born in Massachusetts, but Vermont has been his permanent address since he was 3 years old. He did not grow up on a farm, but a dairy farm was next door for most of his childhood. Vendor at Caledonia Farmers Market Association since 1988.

Welcome to Mountain Forge. We are a family owned and operated blacksmith shop in Lake Tahoe. We handcraft custom metal work. Hans Standteiner opened a small blacksmith shop on the banks of the Truckee River in the late 1960's. His sons, Anton "Toni" and Hansi, have since taken over the business and built a state of the art workshop of their own construction and design.
