It's 3.5 miles and I do it rain or shine, warm or cold. (I actually prefer the cold Minnesota winter walks! I feel more like I do now than when I got here. Jan 7, 2014. Donald Empson, Sinclair computers, and the Street Where You Live. I have always been fascinated by computers. My father worked for Burlington Northern doing "computer stuff" back in the days of punchcards and floors upon floors of whirring machinery. He obviously enjoyed them as well. My hunger for a computer of my own was satisfied by the Timex Sinclair 1000. It was a pre-built version of the ZX-81, except it had twice as much memory - 1k!

I feel more like I do now than when I got here. Sep 15, 2012. Bear Lake, Sailboats, and the shadow of my father. There has been a lot of playing with the rats, which is awesome. And then they sleep well at night. Yes, I mean the rats and. I don't know how the pellet managed to penetrate, remaiin intact, and end up backwards. But the best part of the day was seeing the sailboat on the lake. We don't know whose it is, but it's roughly the same size as the boat Dad used to sail on Bear Lake.

I feel more like I do now than when I got here. Sep 5, 2013. Helmet audio and gear packing. The $9 helmet headset kit from office max. Fits like nothing is there and sounds great. In past years I have done everything from drain my phone battery by listening to mp3's to getting an old old ugly mp3 player and taping that to the scooter. Jill is out of town for a couple days and she's barely out the door before we converted the breakfast nook into a soldering/glue gun project station. I got the kit for the brain machine. At the Maker Faire last year but hadn't put it together. Lily has been bugging me to do it so tonight was the night. Me: "Will it hurt if we burn ourselves on the hot glue gun? Lots of fun for all. Bonus project danger: seizures! It's OK we're all fine.).

Wednesday, May 11, 2011. After we exercised a bit more, we decided we were man enough to do the Lebanon Trail in Elgin. Reception / Permit office. We started far behind those trees in the back ground. And we hit the woods. Need to rest, quite a climb. Out of the woods and on the "Vlakte". Back in the wood for a bit. Near the finish, last leg next to apple trees (in bloom). All and all, it was a tough ride with some of the most beautiful scenery - definitely doing this one again. Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
