My Frugal, Crafty Life. Monday, 29 June 2015. It was DS1's birthday today. I was up at 6.30 making his cake before doing 3 loads of laundry and hanging it out on the line. It's delicious chocolate and a fraction of the price of Cadbury's. Dinner tonight at the birthday boy's request was burgers, chips and salad.and very nice too.And then we cut into the ...The j...

nine to five: Leave No Trace
http://ninetofive-ish.blogspot.com/2015/08/leave-no-trace.html
Tuesday, 11 August 2015. My general view of life is that things have no meaning unless groups or individuals ascribe a meaning to them. This is a pretty freeing way of thinking and it's easy to not get bogged down with the big stuff, it also means I can get bogged down in very small stuff. I suppose my reason for being here isn't really my reason, my parents made that decision for me, so I don't have to think about that anymore *phew*. I keep seeing and hearing lots of things about legacy. Subscribe to: ...

Calmly Creative: Learning to cook
http://calmlycreative.blogspot.com/2014/04/learning-to-cook.html
Monday, 7 April 2014. DD is in her third year of secondary school, and has two hours of "Food Technology", (commonly known as cooking), every fortnight. In that time she has learnt how to produce two main meals; curry and pizza! I don't know about DD; but I learnt a valuable lesson - always read the recipe carefully before agreeing your child can cook it! We decided to use a small saucepan, and fry in batches. They would give McDs a run for their money. I will post the recipe if anyone is interested.

Calmly Creative: Stratford-upon-Avon
http://calmlycreative.blogspot.com/2014/04/stratford-upon-avon.html
Sunday, 13 April 2014. We are a one-holiday-a-year family; usually in the UK and normally self-catering in a cottage or tent. This week was a bit of a change for us - we spent a few days in a hotel, (albeit of the budget variety), in Stratford-upon-Avon. Stratford is mostly known for being the home of a certain W. Shakespeare. Here is his birthplace, which we didn't actually visit:. Was on the canalside, and we could walk into town along the towpath in ten minutes. We were all fascinated by the locks:.
