All of it is still fresh in my mind though, perhaps because of all the pictures. From Colombo to Nuwara Eliya to Kandy to Dambulla to Habarana to Anuradhapura and back to Habarana and then off to our very last destination on the itinerary….Trincomalee, situated in the northeast. On Dusserah Day, we drove to Alibag, a sleepy coastal town, 100 kms south of Mumbai and were greeted by a massive expanse of beach (it was low-tide), on one end of which stands the Kolaba Fort built during Shivaji’s time! We took a buggy ride to the Fort – a fabulously exciting one especially for my son who was screaming with joy as the horses trotted through the shallow waters to get us there!
