Clubs Are Trump: 1889 Cafe
http://clubsaretrump.blogspot.com/2010/04/1889-cafe.html
The Club Sandwich Tour of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Saturday, April 24, 2010. The club sandwich at 1889 Cafe makes a delicious, surprising, and deeply satisfying breakfast. I have no idea how it tastes fresh and hot on the plate at the restuarant, because the Zuccini 1889 was the appetizer, and it was so good, that. That's the Zucchini 1889 there in the upper right of the picture. See the sauces? When the club sandwich arrived on the scene, I was sort of like, oh, yeah, and that. Fresh, because e...

Clubs Are Trump: August 2009
http://clubsaretrump.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
The Club Sandwich Tour of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Thursday, August 20, 2009. I figured an establishment. Whose founders had been summoned to the White House. To make pancakes for President Obama's Memorial Day breakfast would serve an outstanding club sandwich. And the turkey on this club was certainly out of the ordinary: slabs of carved roast turkey breast, like Thanksgiving Day leftovers, not like deli turkey at all. And even though the pickle garnishes were. Friday, August 14, 2009. I didn'...

Clubs Are Trump: Kazansky's Delicatessen
http://clubsaretrump.blogspot.com/2009/12/kazanskys-delicatessen.html
The Club Sandwich Tour of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Connor's Turkey Club at Kazansky's. Is a work of art. Every element of this sandwich inidcates the care and thought of the sandwich-creator. First the bread. Ah, the bread. It is toasted challah- fresh, airy, and sliced thick. Only two pieces, alas. The only way to improve this lovely club would have been to make it a double-decker, in the traditional club style. December 23, 2009 at 4:40 AM. Club Sandwich Tour Stops.

Clubs Are Trump: Breadworks Black Olive, Bacon and Cheddar Focaccia
http://clubsaretrump.blogspot.com/2010/01/breadworks-black-olive-bacon-and.html
The Club Sandwich Tour of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Breadworks Black Olive, Bacon and Cheddar Focaccia. This is a bit of a departure for the club tour. After all, the Black Olive Bacon and Cheddar Cheese Focaccia bread at The Breadworks. Is not a club sandwich. But it oughtta be. And it can be, if you get there on a Wednesday. The Breadworks offers specialty focaccia every business day, but the one with olives, bacon, and cheese is only on Wednesday. This focaccia tur...

Clubs Are Trump: May 2009
http://clubsaretrump.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
The Club Sandwich Tour of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Sunday, May 31, 2009. This not a stop on the Club Sandwich Tour, just a metaphorical look at relationships. What do you do? What I would do is this: Throw away the hair, throw away the chip it was on and all surrounding chips. Then. Eat the rest of the chips and the delicious club sandwich. Of it Not even a corner of the one chip farthest from the sandwich. Even if it had been your favorite lunch spot for years, you would never, ever go back.

Clubs Are Trump: June 2009
http://clubsaretrump.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
The Club Sandwich Tour of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Wednesday, June 17, 2009. The Grant Bar Club. The Grant Bar Club is close to perfection. It is the traditional turkey club, served on three pieces of toast, cut in quarters, held together with frill picks. The bacon was plentiful and chewey to just the right degree. And guess what. There was an egg. A fried egg on the club sandwich! Have we found club sandwich perfection, a mere three stops in on the Club Sandwich Tour? Monday, June 8, 2009.
