What you can see. Thomas Hughes was born in Uffington on 20th October, 1822, where his grandfather (Rev. Dr. Hughes) was Vicar. What you can see. The Museum from the Fernham Road. The Museum is housed in the 390 year-old schoolroom that featured in Thomas Hughes’ book ‘Tom Brown’s School Days’. What you can see. Each year we have a special Exhibition to explain one aspect of Uffington’s history. This year our exhibition will be remembering the end of the 1st World War 100 years ago.
