This portion of our exhibits serves to illustrate the development of both decor and technology in the home, beginning with upscale homes of the late 1800s through the great era of American productivity that was Post-World War II America. The average life expectancy for men was 47 years. Fuel for cars was sold in drug stores only. Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.
