Musings of a Chocolate Lover

Dec 21, 2014. Oh Little Home Of The Crouch Family. I realized yesterday that Todd and I haven't taken pictures of our little home since he moved in about 5 years ago! It has gone through quite a few little changes since we got married 2.5 years ago :). So I walked around real quickly with the camera*. First up, the living room! Complete with tree and Christmas presents! Our main entrance is the door on the right and the door on the left leads to our bedroom/bathroom. Now for the bedroom/office! Something...

Musings of a Chocolate Lover: Watercolor... & More Birds

http://musingsofachocolatelover.blogspot.com/2013/08/watercolor-more-birds-duh.html

Aug 7, 2013. Watercolor. and More Birds. I finally think I have figured this watercolor thing out! Maybe I'll let you be the judge :). And I love it! I'm really enjoying it anyway, and I think this may be the style that I will incorporate for my children's book (okay, I've said that a hundred times, but this time I mean it! It has the realism that I require from myself, the freedom to add some character into the subjects and the softness of a standard Children's book. Wednesday, August 07, 2013.

Apr 14, 2013. Sorry I have not been posting very regularly. Life has thrown me for a loop and I it rarely even occurs to me to update the blog! Floral illustrations ( one of the series posted below. While the work was difficult ( mostly because of the short deadline and the sickies. I really enjoyed getting to draw again—before this my freelance work was largely digital, though now I am asked to illustrate more frequently, which is great. Photo stolen from here. iSisi: A Visit With the Family

http://isisiblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-visit-with-family.html

Wednesday, June 24, 2015. A Visit With the Family. Wednesday, June 24, 2015. It seems like I just started, but I'm already halfway through my third week of research. While sometimes I struggle with the loneliness, it has been a real growing experience thus far. It's teaching me that I don't need other people around me to be content (although that lesson is still in progress) and I certainly don't need lab mates in order to know I'm doing it right. Anyway, moving on from self-reflection. Evan is 4-years-o...

iSisi: Lab Lyfe

http://isisiblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/lab-lyfe.html

Thursday, June 11, 2015. Thursday, June 11, 2015. My first week of research is almost done! My first extracted RNA! And it feels so. So what is this summer of research looking like so far? Well, it's been early mornings, accelerated learning, extensive protocols and journal reading, and sometimes really lonely. The curse of being a people-person, I guess. Diluted RNA taken from grape leaves (next to donor). An RNA isolation kit along with accessories. I feel like I'm still "playing scientist", like it's ...

iSisi: Hard Truths

http://isisiblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/hard-truths.html

Saturday, January 3, 2015. Saturday, January 03, 2015. If there's one thing I've learned from Pinterest, it's that material things don't satisfy. After looking at all those beautifully photographed articles of clothing, hair-dos, random objects. A persistent reminder that the new bag was pointless continued to haunt me every time I looked at something new. After finding the perfect shirt (just like the one on Pinterest! It was nice, but then the next day came, and I felt no better for it.

Thursday, December 18, 2014. Fall Semester 2014 Check! Thursday, December 18, 2014. The end of each semester is such a whirlwind. With all the final projects due and exams coming up, it is SO easy to just loose yourself in it, forgetting why you're there (not just. How did I even reach the point of confusion over my future? Well, as the semester rolled on, I continued to ponder what my professor had told me. The fact that my one education class last semester was a three-hour night class didn't make t...

Saturday, July 18, 2015. Adulthood: A Note to My Future Self. Saturday, July 18, 2015. If adulthood (the maturity and wisdom part) was a ripened plant, then I just opened a new flower. Evidence and reading/seeing it for yourself.). These years have been great and crucial for my growth as a person, however while my ideas and opinions were. Yeah, pretty much politics. But I also never had interest in the news or getting out of my own social sphere. I was isolated and quite ignorant of the world, and wh...

The Musings Of A Chocoholic

Saturday, 10 February 2018. Morning peeps, Crafty Individuals have just released some new stamps and papers so pop over here. To get all the latest goodies, for this card I have used three of their stamps,. The main daffodil image is from CI 488 spring flowers, so this card is a fusion of autumn meets spring, the background of the daffodils is Oxide inks and then I stamped and embossed the flowers in gold and then added crystal lacquer to the flower heads. Thanks for taking a peek. Tuesday, 13 June 2017.

Musings of a Christian housewife - Main

Musings of a Christian housewife. Full time mom driven by. When I forget to call. Do we forget to call out to God when we are in trouble, hurting, or scared? Is He the first one we call out to? I was reminded of this the other day when i was in a stressful situation myself. Here's the part where i share my dirty laundry. (Just in case anyone thought i had it all together. Here is yet another example that i, in fact do not). Billie, did you take your medicine this morning? I was starting to panic. I then ...

I truly am blessed, and as I venture forth into the unknown of this coming school year I will go with peace. God is fighting for me. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window).

Thursday, 20 August 2009. Today this years A level results arrive. Again, there is going to be a record amount of passes, which the government will laud as improvement in education standards and the press will assault with comments about grade inflation and "dumbing down". The same charade will happen next week when the GCSE results, including mine, arrive. Wednesday, 22 July 2009. So How do you change our society? The slow way: one heart at a time?
