ACCESS, ACCESSIBLE, ACCESSIBILITY. Hello Blog, I’ve neglected you in print, but not in writing. My excuse is simple; I have had access issues. Access is a strange word as it can mean different things to different people and the context can vary. The access problem I have had is forgetting my password and the reset link not sending an email. Yes, I have now remembered it! What words do we use when requesting a new password or enquiring why we cannot benefit from full usage of a site? These give access in ...

Patients’ Experiences Following Major Illness or Injury’. I have chosen this image as I feel it reflects the journey into the unknown that patients go through.). Reflections based upon my attendance at a day conference ‘Patients’ Experiences Following Major Illness or Injury’ on 24 March 2015. A point I feel it is important to reflect upon – comparing one person with another is not necessarily very helpful, however good the intention! Recovering from critical illness’ was a presentation led by Dr Stephen...

MINDFULNESS | musingsofmistressfiona

https://musingsofmistressfiona.wordpress.com/mindfulness

Mindfulness meditation is NOT about sitting on the floor in a position not suited to arthritic joints and chanting “ommmmm” for hours on end. Neither is it about emptying your mind. It is about sitting for short periods in silence with your thoughts, acknowledging your thoughts and moving them to oneside. Now that is the easy bit! The hard part is finding time to just sit, be still, be silent and not have a book in one hand and a coffee mug in another! More about the method of mindfulness to follow….

Apps that spy: are they good or are they bad? There appears to have been much disquiet within my twitter time line regarding an application a well-known charity has created that enables users to be alerted if anyone they follow on twitter uses words or phrases related to possible suicidal ideation. Should anyone devise an app to detect murdering psychopaths with sadomasochistic tendencies who believe children should be beaten would have a field day with tweets in #TheArchers time line! Of course not, but...

Knitting, Family and Chaos. In my blog way back in February I spoke about my plans for the garden area in front of what is going to be my new work studio. The horrible old patio in front of the studio has been made bigger and replaced with gravel. We have new steps and retaining walls:. Nuffield Place →. Fill in...

Saturday, December 3, 2011. Talking to the Universe. I've been trying to commune with God, the Big Is-ness, the Holy Wonder. I started consciously tithing, being appreciative, praying for others, allowing my desires for good to speak to me without the filter of dense mental construct realities. Lately, I have been doing everything short of dancing naked under the moon to connect with that trusting place in myself. I've begged for a sign and even more for a suggestion. Hmm Good for her. In almost 2 years, all I’ve accomplished on here is a few unfinished drafts for a post. All my writings that were never completed, probably never will be since most are no longer relevant. What a waste of time! This is an excerpt from the first draft I wrote in Aug 2010:. My apologies it’s not insightful.

Most men (I use the term loosely) that I have dated over the past year loose my attention somewhere between entree and the bad sex after dinner. Musings of Moe

Wednesday, May 4, 2011. My feet hung out of the window, the bottoms reflected in the side mirror. You could tell I had been walking barefoot at the rest stops. My toes were painted purple with green and blue glitter on top. The sun made them glimmer; made the polish look new. My toe ring was dusty, but the sun managed to make that look new too. We had been driving for hours fleeing the place I called Hell. My eyes were wrinkled and jaded. Maybe they could make me look new too. I watched it as I wept.
