Engineer Ward Paine has a moment between switching moves during the January 1, 2003 Op Session. The Potomac Tannery at Dobbin is is in the background. We have had only two recent operating sessions in 2007. As the mainline projects are completed, more sessions will be held. The appearance of our club model railroad is ever evolving. The original ideas came together in 1992 and 1993 to create a trans-West Virginia rail line across the northern half of the state. Further connections to the eastern port of Baltimore and the western industrial city of Cinncinnati were implied. Members have been especially fond of the Baltimore and Ohio and Western Maryland railroads, so our modeled efforts often reflect these major prototype influences. The South Elkins layout has been dismantled. I've moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area and did not have a similar space to rebuild this model railroad. While the layout did not progress to an operating level, I learned a great deal from research, contacts, and construction. My next project has begun in the new home.
