Friday, October 1, 2010. I've started my sabbatical from work last week. This is my third one, will be off for 10 weeks. What a great benefit! I've mostly been preparing for our trip around the U.S., but also doing a bit of relaxing. We have had a bit of a delay on leaving due to a delay in getting the house refinanced. Sunday, October 3, 2010. We're packed and ready to go (I won't say finally). Leaving first thing in the morning. We finished up the instruction sheet for our house sitter Brianna - for all the pets and so forth: (7) pages, sheesh. After about the 4th sheet a few days agao was when I decided on the poster for the camper. Thanks Brianna for taking all that on! Thursday, October 14, 2010. North Loop of Yellowstone Park and Grand Teton National Park. Wow, what beautiful country. On Tuesday we drove the North Loop of Yellowstone, except about 1/4 of the route, which was closed to let the bears do more foraging for the winter, unmolested by tourists. Saturday, October 23, 2010. Over the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Left Las Vegas today, drove over the Sierra Nevada mountain range to Bishop, California. Am headed to the Lake Tahoe area. Was there as a kid and still remember that it was really beautiful. It was cloudy when crossing over the range, but the sun peaked out and highlighted this little valley.
