Friday, November 1, 2013. Pumpkin Carving Contest 2013. It's finally time to vote for your favorite pumpkins! Just like previous years, there are four different categories. Adult Entries (without a stencil)-. Pumpkins in this category were carved by an adult but without the direct use of a stencil. The design could be based on a picture or stencil but it had to be drawn and/or carved free-hand. Adult Entries (with stencil)-. These pumpkins were carved by an adult with the direct use of a stencil. Kids En...

Monday, April 23, 2012. No More Snaggle Tooth! Sienna's front tooth has been really wiggly for a few weeks now, but she hasn't let us try to pull it out. Where is Aunt Tracy when we need her? Her permanent tooth was starting to come in behind it, too. It looks like her mouth is growing which is creating spaces to get ready for her adult teeth to grow in (unlike Isabella's which are so crowded! She could make herself look like a beaver by putting her two middle teeth over her bottom lip. 65279; . From Th...

The Petros: August 2011

Tuesday, August 30, 2011. The Aftermath of Irene. We lost a big oak tree in our yard, but it was nowhere near our house, thankfully! Mike, Uncle Jeff and Elijah assessed the situation. Jeff and Tracy were in town to drop our nephew, Trevor, off at Brown University. Trevor waited out the storm in his dorm room with some food rations from the cafeteria, but he never lost power. Elijah was ready to help with the clean up with his goggles and handsaw. Isabella surveyed the scene. That would have been a shame!

The Petros: March 2011

Friday, March 11, 2011. Tonight Mike took the girls to a Father/Daughter (and Mother/Son) Dance which was put on by our town's Parks and Recreation Department. Mike took Isabella to the dance last year. But this year they opened it up to include Kindergarteners, too, instead of just grades 1-5. This was great news for Sienna! She was excited to get dressed up and join in the fun this year! Dada and his dates! Elijah couldn't pass up this photo opportunity! Sunday, March 6, 2011. Is she smiling for the ca...

Friday, January 21, 2011. Me need towel.". I was washing dishes this afternoon when Elijah came over and said, "Me need towel." Then he took a towel and put it over his shoulder. When I'm cooking or washing dishes, I always have a towel over my left shoulder. I picked up this habit from my mom, my two aunts, and my grandma! I haven't done that yet, but I love that Elijah needed a towel over his shoulder so he could "cook" in his kitchen! He said, "Me wear towel like you-cooking kitchen." Grandma F. I tri...

Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Elijah went to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's yesterday for a friend from school. Elijah was hoping to help his friend open the gift that we got him. Elijah: "I want to help T.J. open his monster trucks.". Liz: "I don't think he'll open his presents in front of everyone.". Elijah: "Will he open his presents behind everyone? Lately, Elijah says the opposite of just about everything I suggest. This morning he gave me a hard time about getting his coat on before school.

The Petros: June 2011

Thursday, June 9, 2011. In the Clear for Another Year! Today we spent the day at Children's Hopsital Boston for Elijah's annual follow-up MRI. I usually dread the IV stick since it notoriously took several tries to get an IV started on Elijah. This time I brought our computer with a new Thomas the Tank Engine video, and Elijah was distracted and relaxed enough on my lap that the nurse got the IV into his arm on the first try and he didn't even cry! He really isn't our baby anymore! We got great news that...
