A Small, Sunny Garden: A Wildflower for Wednesday
https://smallsunnygarden.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-wildflower-for-wednesday.html
A Small, Sunny Garden. A small garden in the English style, set in the wilds of the northern Sonora Desert. Bibliography and Inspirational Material. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. A Wildflower for Wednesday. This has had its influence on me too. I have been known to indulge in the dubious (from a gardening perspective) practice of leaving a wildling to grow "to find out what it is". Generally, it was not something to be recommended for a civilized garden! I am using it as a temporary groundcover in areas wh...

A Small, Sunny Garden. A small garden in the English style, set in the wilds of the northern Sonora Desert. Bibliography and Inspirational Material. Friday, August 7, 2015. The Wild Tree: August. Today's walk to see the wild tree proved to be a voyage of discovery. The few rains we have had during July have altered the landscape in many ways. The first surprise was finding a couple of blooms of Desert Poppy open. at last! These marvelous wildflowers (Kallstroemia grandiflora, see my post from last year.

My Food and Gardens. From family gardening to cooking. Tuesday, August 20, 2013. The little guy found a trap, set it up with a little peanut butter one night. It worked. He caught a shy little guy. He was relocated miles away to a very secluded wooded area where we have pictures of them thriving and growing to massive sizes. Here is a video of one of the released and angry animals. About the Garden - A Small Sunny Garden by Amy Myers
https://www.smallsunnygarden.com/about-the-garden
A Small Sunny Garden. Welcome to the small, sunny garden! It was born into a bare patch of desert dirt back in autumn of 2014. It spills off the edges of our patio and reclaims a bit of the surrounding desert for habitation: for us, for the hummingbirds and bees and butterflies and lizards and toads and, must I admit, rabbits! Here is a look at the setting and the creation of this little desert garden. The garden resides just on (or beyond, according to many locals! The region has long been home to a num...

My Food and Gardens: Game Camera: Natural Trophy
http://myfoodandgardens.blogspot.com/2013/09/game-camera-natural-trophy.html
My Food and Gardens. From family gardening to cooking. Thursday, September 5, 2013. Game Camera: Natural Trophy. After a long wait for the little monster, we finally saw a few pictures of our raccoon we released to a safer place. He seems to have found a new family as there were many different pictures. We also caught a few rabbits, hogs, coyotes and of course deer of all sizes on the camera. The little monster was happy to see his relocated friend happy and still a little cranky. The Rosewood Tree in January - A Small Sunny Garden by Amy Myers
https://www.smallsunnygarden.com/2017/01/11/the-rosewood-tree-in-january
A Small Sunny Garden. The Rosewood Tree in January. After failing miserably to keep up with the tree following meme last year, I am once more setting out to choose and follow a tree month by month with the theme hosted by Squirrelbasket. This time the tree selected is a resident of my own garden. The foliage is beautiful; slender, glossy leaves terminate in a sharp point. Because they grow in very upright clusters, one sees the somewhat paler underside most frequently. The genus was named for French chem...

My Food and Gardens. From family gardening to cooking. Friday, August 23, 2013. He likes school, his teacher (finally) and all of his friends. His problem is being told to wake up. He is a cranky little monster in the mornings that will have a few toys taken away if he does not correct his attitude. Tuesday, August 20, 2013. My Food and Gardens: July 2013
http://myfoodandgardens.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
My Food and Gardens. From family gardening to cooking. Monday, July 15, 2013. Friday, July 12, 2013. Here are a few fireworks we set off for the fourth. The little monster loved them. We threw in a few sparklers at the end. He had so much fun he talked his uncle into doing it again a few nights later. This did not require much talking since my brother had already planned on the activity on a night he was off. Thursday, July 11, 2013. Dahlia - Garden Wonder. Tuesday, July 9, 2013. My Food and Gardens: Crepe Myrtes
http://myfoodandgardens.blogspot.com/2013/09/crepe-myrtes.html
My Food and Gardens. From family gardening to cooking. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. September 19, 2013 at 4:55 PM. Hi Erin, that is truly one of the brightest crepe myrtles that I have ever seen. How nice that you cut off the flowers for your grandmother together with your kid. I dont have that tree in my garden, but we have many growing in the neighborhood. I dont recall seen everyone trimming the old blooms off and wonder if that will increase flowering? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Thoughts about life, living, and gardening…. A Stuck Foot Along The Sidewalk Gardens. Tidying is the act of confronting yourself; cleaning is the act of confronting nature. But it is neither of those. This is my time to show you the Sidewalk Garden, by sticking my foot in one spot and panning around. This time though, I thought I would move around to show it from all its views. It is still a work in progress, but taking my time to carefully clear it has given me so many ideas for changes this fall which ...
