Compass Rose: August 2014
http://lilacfarm.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
That was Zen.This is Tao. The Overturn of Citizens United is of the people, by the people and for the people. There is a lot of propaganda being passed around the internet that the Democrats are trying to stifle the 1st amendment rights of free speech by getting rid of the egregious corporatist "Citizens United" decision by SCOTUS. In that decision money was equated with speech. Money is not speech. This is a nation where one person has one vote and one voice. Senate Joint Resolution 19. Section 2. T...

Privacy Policy and Such. Monday, August 3, 2009. Throughout the history of the human species, we have been building with stone. The first stone homes were not much more than piles of rubble. Today, stone buildings can be huge and grand and complex or small and comfortable and simple. Stone buildings and houses may be the perfect construct for modern attempts at sustainable living and farming. The reasons for this include:. Availability of Building Materials. So, let's get down to business with a few recipes. 4 cups chopped rhubarb. 1/4 cups finely chopped strawberries (optional). 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar. Place pie on low r...

Porch project finished! | Lost on Dragonfly Farm
https://thereidss.wordpress.com/2013/06/26/porch-project-finished
Lost on Dragonfly Farm. June 26, 2013 at 1:09 pm ( The Farm. The long running porch project is 95% complete, so it’s good enough to show off. This was the back of the house this time last year. Here is the porch now in all its glory. The inside turned out roomy with the bump out seating. I can sleep out there in the afternoons and it feels soooooo good. The fan we installed is super quiet and pushes a lot of air. Erin says the porch reminds her of a cafe. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Follow “Lost on...

To Farm Again: Preserving Blueberries
http://tofarmagain.blogspot.com/2009/08/preserving-blueberries.html
Privacy Policy and Such. Saturday, August 1, 2009. Some people switch the process and rinse first, then letting them dry before freezing. Either way is acceptable. It is reported that rinsing before freezing can lessen their lifetime in the freezer. Blueberries only last a few months in my freezer so I really couldn't tell you. Most people preserve blueberries through canning as a jelly, jam, syrup or compote. Here is a great little site. Thanks for this post.I enjoyed it! November 11, 2010 at 1:02 AM.

To Farm Again: Quote Of The Day
http://tofarmagain.blogspot.com/2013/11/quote-of-day.html
Privacy Policy and Such. Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Quote Of The Day. Take yourself off the back burner. That's what I heard from my boss Monday morning. Apparently my stress and angst was palpable over the phone line. Telecommuting can really amplify little irritations into major head-banging mountains of stress. Multiple projects (one being mismanaged by one of our equally stressed business analyst) and two recent mistakes in some billing research I was working on just put me on the edge. Growing up...

Urban Hennery: Local Resources
http://urbanhennery.blogspot.com/2007/04/local-resources.html
Stories from a country girl stuck in the city and her downtown hens. While you can take the girl out of the country, you can't get the country out of the girl. One day I woke up and realized that I lived in the city. And decided that if I couldn't move to the country I'd bring some country to the city. For anyone in the Seattle area with chickens, or considering chickens, here are some resources and groups you should be aware of:.
