He is undergoing a NEW TREATMENT using a combination of Ribavirin, Pegasys and a drug that was just approved for the treatment of hepatitis c- Nitazoxanide (Alinia). He was diagnosed 6 years ago with Genotype 4. In 2003, he tried combo therapy- Pegasys and Ribavirin. He cleared the virus at six months but relapsed. Until now, there was nothing to do but wait for a new drug. This is it. So he is trying again with the addition of Nitazoxanide (Alinia).

Humana did not want to approve more than a 20 day supply per month. So our doctor called Humana and sent them a copy of the study that can be found on Romark's site:. First, I know it doesn't seem like it should be happening this quickly, but my Honey's hair is beginning to grow back (only one month off the Riba and Interferon)! The texture is not dry and wiry anymore; it's soft and there's definitely more of it. He needs a haircut which he hasn't had since last year! So definitely no more anemia.
