La mia vacanza italiana. Tuesday, July 04, 2006. I had terrible blisters day one of the trip, thanks to the strenuous and extremely long Rome walking tour. The casualty to my feet included severe cracked heels, a boil on my right heel and a boil of the inner fourth toe of my left foot. Jeez! It was a great annoyance and a pain in the ass (not literally, of course)! These lasted throughout the whole trip, and only managed to heal a little toward the end of the trip at Lavagna. La mia vacanza italiana. Saturday, July 08, 2006. I was booked at Fawlty Towers Hostel. I knew where it was located because I checked it out when I was in Rome with Mel earlier in the week. Its location was perfect. Across the road from the station and it was easy for me to carry my luggage and make my way there. Got back to my room, had leftover foccacia and some Nutella and watched the match between Mexico and Argentina. And then I had a tough time falling asleep. But I did. We were on the same flight.

La mia vacanza italiana. Thursday, June 29, 2006. Part one (18th 19th June). The flight was 11 plus hours, but bearable. Watching a couple of movies did the trick for me to get some rest. Unfortunately not as good as the rest Mel got, but it was sufficient. Our hostel was called ‘ Hotel Papa Germano’. La mia vacanza italiana. Saturday, July 08, 2006. I liked the food didn’t love it, but LIKED it. The tomato in the pastas were too tomatoish for me, the pizzas too cheesy. What I did like, was the fact vino (wine) was super cheap. Cheaper than soda drinks, I think. Five euros can get you a whole bottle of wine. One euro plus, a glass! Their breads are great as their bacis (I think it literally means kisses), but they are little cookies thingies with chocolate in the middle). Italian coffee rocks!
