Thursday, September 24, 2009. I have a new training partner for the bike, Phil! He bought a rode bike earlier this week and we have already rode three or four times on the Cady Way Trail. It is nice to have someone to ride with on a consistent basis. The only draw back is that he wants to ride all the time, but some days I have to run or swim or most importantly, REST! Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Rain on My Parade. I was so excited because I was going to go on my first group ride. Today, but instead it has decided to rain. I guess it's all the better, because I also forgot to bring my helmet with me. Hopefully the weather will be better for next weeks ride. Until then, I'll be at the gym in spin class. Saturday, August 15, 2009. And It Begins Again…. I think the biggest challenge I’m going to face with this triathlon is the training. Now that I’m located in Orlando, I don’t have my gym membership to practice swimming and I haven’t yet found a group ride to practice cycling. I know the solutions seem simple, but the fact that my boyfriend and I could be relocating at any moment for employment complicates the problem. When I went online today to check the registration for the Aflac Iron Girl Atlanta Triathlon. It was SOLD OUT! Well, a little over a month ago I did something to my body. It is a hard place to describe where it is and it is hard to describe what I did. Confused? Sunday, January 1, 2017. 2016 was good to me, I have no complaints! I traveled back home for Christmas and enjoyed spending time with my family and former colleagues. It was good to regroup and refocus and I'm now back in Abu Dhabi. It's funny how I couldn't wait to go back to The States, but once there, I couldn't wait to come back to the UAE. Lol! Monday, August 10, 2009. I am back in reality. I arrived back to the states July 8. And have been struggling with readjusting. I could not sleep the first night I was home and I missed Africa horribly! I did not realize how much Uganda meant to me while I was in it, but now that I am gone, I realize.
