March 25, 2012. How to (not) avoid clichés. Is it because almost everything, every situation on this planet has been clicked away dozens, sometimes hundreds of times already? One thing is for sure: Sometimes there are situations that capture you completely, that work a spell on you, and you want to show this magic. You end up with almost the same photos like everyone else, but the moment comes alive. Like the image above from the Yeeping Lantern Festival near Chiang Mai, where I live.

March 15, 2012. People are subjects. Not objects. I tend to forget that sometimes when I think too hard about the lighting or composition of an image. But I can never forget it when I make a portrait. The image on top shows classical guitar maker Gerold Hannabach. When he was 82 years old, in his small workshop. He taught me how to make guitars and so I knew him for many years before I made that photo. No artificial lighting, only what came in through the windows. This entry was posted in photography.

That made the difference when the first digital cameras appeared. Nowadays technology is far better than in those beginning days, picture quality is not an issue any more with modern sensor cameras. Åh jag blir seriöst helt galen på mig själv! Jag orkar inte vara sjuk! Det är så agrthygrefwd tråkigt! Och imorgon är det julafton = vi ska åka till kusiner i uppsala som har katt = jag vet inte om jag kan åka dit! Tänk om jag lixom. Får värsta anfallet eller något?
