Elle's Belles: August 2012
http://ellesbelles2008.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
On an Asian adventure. Monday, 13 August 2012. I noticed, during my recent trip to the UK, that my English is deteriorating. I had to book a physiotherapy session while I was there, and this is how the conversation went (abbreviated):. Me: Hello, I'd like to book an appointment for tomorrow. Them: We have a slot at 8am. Them: What exercise have you done recently? Me: Well, on Monday I done yoga in the morning, and then I done a run in the evening. Taxi driver: "Also can". I'm sorry, I cannot do that'.

Elle's Belles: October 2012
http://ellesbelles2008.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
On an Asian adventure. Tuesday, 23 October 2012. Where has October gone? Well it's passed me by in a blur of planning and marking and now I find myself in an autumnal England, for half-term week. And I'm so grateful to be here! Well that has been happening all over the place since I've been back. Today, I'm heading into London to see friends and for shopping; a whole bunch of other reasons to remind me of how lucky I am. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogs I love to read. Petit Coin de Parapluie: Personal Statement
http://petit-coin-de-parapluie.blogspot.com/2011/02/personal-statement.html
Petit Coin de Parapluie. Stories and pictures collected in France. Wednesday, 2 February 2011. The other day at work, I was asked to read through and correct the so-called Personal Statement of someone's son. who was applying for a coveted place on a degree course at LSE. The French applicant (aged 23) had written the statement in English, so maybe the pompous style was partly due to the fact it wasn't his native language (or style). I try to be open-minded and non-judgemental, I really do. Should they r...

Petit Coin de Parapluie: Great Expectations
http://petit-coin-de-parapluie.blogspot.com/2011/02/great-expectations.html
Petit Coin de Parapluie. Stories and pictures collected in France. Wednesday, 9 February 2011. Sometimes I wonder: all these enthusiastic excursions and activities. all these Wednesdays planned to perfection and overflowing with good intentions and multiple ideas for healthy, outdoor fun. Who gets the most pleasure out of it all? Throw that question out today to the two little boys in this household, and you'll get a quick answer flung back: Maman. Yes, decidedly, Maman. Back home. Just doing exactly...

Petit Coin de Parapluie: November 2010
http://petit-coin-de-parapluie.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Petit Coin de Parapluie. Stories and pictures collected in France. Tuesday, 30 November 2010. For the past thirty years or so, my department has subcontracted the work it can't do in-house to a handful of local, independent translators ( do I need to point out that I wasn't personally involved in this for the first 24 years? Or, to paint a more vivid image: most of our subcontractors have been working with my department since the day I was born. The results were radical. So, we duly made out our reports ...

me and three: The Load Out
http://meandthreee.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-load-out.html
And one more makes four. Wednesday, 12 August 2015. Last cloth nappy load. We are eight weeks shy of using cloth nappies for eight full years in this house (give or take the need for disposables when the cloths were being shipped across continents). And that was before Joey got a hold of them). But still I am loathe to throw them out, so they are going to the Aladdin's Cave of Oma's house till AunTia or some other sibling requires some spares. 12 August 2015 at 20:04. http://meandthreee.blogspot.com/2015/08/like-how-water.html
And one more makes four. Monday, 10 August 2015. Like How The Water. And continuing in the spirit of exploring our local communities, we finally made it to the spray park in nearby KCA today. Once again though I wondered why. On earth I didn't make the effort to find this place a few months ago? 13 August 2015 at 09:04. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A blog about me. Waiting for Bob: New Traditions
http://waitingforbob.blogspot.com/2010/12/new-traditions.html
Monday, December 20, 2010. I decided to start a new tradition this year, based on something I read on my blogging friend Jen aka Brazenlilly's blog. Here's our advent calendar hanging on the wall in the living room and kitchen area. Cute, huh? Now it looks very pretty, but filling all those little pockets with daily activities is actually a lot of work and planning. This year is definitely a learning experience and I think next year it'll be easier! That went down very well! We've definitely had some mis...

Trauma: The Drama: February 2006
http://traumathedrama.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
The life and times of me here, there and everywhere. But mostly on my sofa. Monday, February 27, 2006. So today I went shopping for some work clothes and I hate everything that is out there. Seriously. I bought two pair of slacks and then a sweater at Target for God's sake. And that took me in the neighborhood of 3 hours. Sucked. On top of that it was raining off and on so that didn't help. Posted by JJ @ 4:37 PM. Links to this post. Sunday, February 26, 2006. Can you tell I fixed my blog layout? I need ...
