Friday, August 29, 2014. Life sometimes has a way of throwing some pretty nasty curve balls. Unexpected and tragic events. Events that make the next breath something you have to think about since you don't realize you are holding your breath hoping things will pass quicker. We have walked through and are currently walking through difficult times. Things that make sitting down and dialoguing with your children necessary. mymusings-becky: July 2012

http://mymusings-becky.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 26, 2012. Maybe I shouldn't utter those words since I can't truly guarantee them but as much I can control I will be with her for the long haul. To my two daughters who have come to me and carry the pain and scars of abandonment: you are loved deeply, truly and completely! My heart hurts for you as I carry a similar wound. My wound may not run as deep but it is still very tender. Maybe God brought us together to be agents in each others healing. I love you both! Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

mymusings-becky: July 2013

http://mymusings-becky.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 5, 2013. How has nearly two months passed since I have attempted to sit down to upload new pictures? Of course the highlight of every summer for all of us is the cabin! Every year we come away feeling more blessed than the year before. And every year everyone comes home completely tuckered out from playing their hearts out. My girls slept almost the entire way home this year which gave me a nice quiet ride. Tristan coming to the finish line with Aunt Hannah! Someone had her seasons confused!

mymusings-becky: March 2013

Thursday, March 7, 2013. Last year, on this day, our beautiful and unexpected baby girl arrived on our doorstep. Forever changing us. In only the best ways possible. I will never forget the feeling in my stomach as we waited for the caseworker to pull into our driveway. I couldn't eat. My stomach was in knots. So excited! And then she came through our doorway and straight into our hearts! I still look at her in wonder. I sometimes forget she didn't grow within my womb. She is so much a part of me! One th...

Thursday, December 13, 2012. Naomi's stocking is all the way on the left. If you look you will see the hearts. Naomi was prayed for as Amy knit. What more could you ask for? Small details that were unspoken but God knew they were tucked away in my heart. And He blessed us through Amy! Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts Amy! For loving us, for loving our baby girl and giving us this beautiful gift! Speaking of Naomi.she is growing up right before our eyes! It is so cute! We are waiting for one more ...

American expat wife and mom, living in Nairobi. Monday, July 26, 2010. Missing but not Disappeared. It's been a long break from blogging. I had a busy two weeks of getting the house ready and presentable for tons of in laws visiting, and then three weeks of the in laws all in town. This would be the parental in laws as well as the brother and sister in law. It's very stressful, but I'm trying to just rest and have a different mindset towards money. ;). I feel large, but really compared to how much I gain...

American expat wife and mom, living in Nairobi. Thursday, October 21, 2010. Posted by Out Loud. Friday, October 8, 2010. I'm sitting here typing to the background noise of Elmo's world video, and my 2 year old, Cute Child, is randomly screaming into the living room air "ANMIMALS! And "MISTUH NOOODUL". I figure it's a good time to do a short update. And I wonder if all of this is a thyroid related problem! It's in a 9 house compound. SOooo excited! Posted by Out Loud. Monday, October 4, 2010. Out Loud: Abortion.

http://movingtonairobi.blogspot.com/2012/11/abortion.html

American expat wife and mom, living in Nairobi. Monday, November 12, 2012. This is a topic that I just won't change on. For me it is the silent holocaust around the world. It is the female genocide in Asia. To me it will never be a 'right' to kill someone else. I'm all riled up about this, not only because of it being an election year, and there's the whole supreme court justices, and the idea of Roe. V Wade ever being overturned. And here's where my heart and brain went:. I'm not really looking for resp...

American expat wife and mom, living in Nairobi. Sunday, September 26, 2010. The Promenade: they don't make'm like this any more. John Mark McMillan is a worship leader that has inspired and led Hot Husband and I into worship many times, and we've never heard him live. Just from his recordings. One of the reasons is because his songwriting is very raw, real, and we can relate. He has a blog that I link to here. And his latest post. I will paste below. I found it oh so true. Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

American expat wife and mom, living in Nairobi. Monday, March 28, 2011. Okay, so I'm not sure if this item is my favorite gift *of all time* or not. There may have been something else I've received that trumped this. But I can't actually think of what that would be. The first thing I got was the entire collection of Jane Austen books for $1.99. Oh the joy! I then bought a cover. In a land where the customer service is somewhat nonexistent over half of the time, where good service is so rare I can count i...

http://movingtonairobi.blogspot.com/2011/11/so-what-does-normal-day-look-like-for.html

American expat wife and mom, living in Nairobi. Monday, November 28, 2011. So, what does a normal day look like for you? The heading says it all. That question, "So, what does a normal day look like for you over there? Last week I had a somewhat normal week. Power still off. Rest at home. Make dinner. Prepare my diet food (veg and chicken). http://movingtonairobi.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

American expat wife and mom, living in Nairobi. Sunday, May 30, 2010. Raising kids in Kenya. The weather is starting to cool down here, but the sun has been out quite a bit nevertheless. It's days like today, where it's just a bit chilly, but the sun is shining brightly that remind me of a June day in Montana. It's nice. It's going to be fantastic once it's all arranged, and cleaned! Posted by Out Loud. Labels: Life in Kenya. Raising Kids in Kenya. Sunday, May 23, 2010. So much to do, so little time.

my musing life - where deep contemplation is punctuated by shallow thoughts

Where deep contemplation is punctuated by shallow thoughts. I Can’t Control the Future (and Neither Can You). I told myself, If I practice safe sex, then I won’t get pregnant. I told myself, If I go to college, then I’ll get a good job. We line up all our ducks in a row. We dot every i. And cross every t. Except they aren’t. Life is uncertain, and it isn’t always safe. Musing On The World – where we've been, where we are, and where we could go

Musing On The World. Where we've been, where we are, and where we could go. The education divide is the jobs divide, and it’s the biggest issue of our time. May 20, 2017. May 20, 2017. This divide is less about the jobs people have, and much more about the jobs people have access to. The education divide is the jobs divide, and it’s the biggest issue of our time. Sunday, July 8, 2012. A Tale of Two Cities. It’s like courting two guys at the same time. When you’re with one, you miss the other. Never really belonging to either, yet a part of both. For four years now, I’ve been flitting between two cities Hyderabad and Bangalore. Two darling cities, but can’t really settle down in either. I love them both, but can’t make up my mind as to where I’d live. I wonder when this will end, and I wonder who I shall be. Tuesday, June 5, 2012. I guess somewhere deep down my mi...

Just Me

Thursday, October 30, 2014. My Big Fat Tam-Brahm Wedding. Is creeping closer by the day. If you had told me six months ago that I'd be getting married soon, I probably would have laughed in your face and accused you of being on crack. But what can I say. weird stuff happens. Good-weird. And this. The most commonly asked question happens to be, "Love or arranged? I usually go with arranged. I don't believe in love-cum-arranged marriages. That's like saying upma. You're quite the Bollywood-type, aren't you?
