A entertaining mix of nerdy obsessions and sarcastic observations! Who I Am and What I Write. I am unashamed in my love for the Elder Scrolls series, so naturally I was so freaking excited to get home last night and play The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. We payed extra to get the disk delivered on the same day of the release. Imagine my surprise when I sat down to play only to discover it needed a 7 HOUR UPDATE! Who are you and what have you done with my mom? You are far from broken love.

A entertaining mix of nerdy obsessions and sarcastic observations! Who I Am and What I Write. Well that was awkward…. Then there is the creepier side of FB. Today I was contacted by a guy I (very briefly) dated in high school. To give you a frame of reference I graduated in 2001, so it’s been 14 years since I last saw this guy. Now we have been FB friends for a few years, but never really talked. Then today this happened:. Him: I bet you still live in Buckeye (the hellhole of a small town I grew up in).

A entertaining mix of nerdy obsessions and sarcastic observations! Who I Am and What I Write. The writers block gremlin strikes again…. Is there anything in the world more disheartening to a writer than the blinking of a cursor on an empty white screen? Hola my fellow internet peoples! There is a few downsides to this whole “further my education and grow as a person” thing and they are:. 2 $18,000 more in student loan debt. Who are you and what have you done with my mom? You are far from broken love.

About | Jodie Louise
https://jodielouisewrites.wordpress.com/about
I am a writer based in Southampton in the UK. I hate writing about myself. I would much rather sit with a coffee and talk for hours about my work. But, I can tell you a few, maybe irrelevant, things. So here it goes: I’m a vegetarian, my favourite animals are bears and my favourite Disney character is Mufasa (I know, it’s tragic) I love books with gripping characters and tantalising cliff hangers. I think that’s pretty much all you need to know. The coffee I promised is waiting on my main page. Sometimes...

Writery Habits | Jodie Louise

Posted by Jodie Louise. July 21, 2015. I love routine. I just love it. When I am ticking along in a good routine I feel safe, I get work done and I am happy. Over the last year or so I have had to let go of a lot of my routine and habitual behaviours. I’ve learned that it isn’t healthy to have a precise plan in mind because I cannot control the world and things do pop up (That’s counselling for you). Put a different sauce on and it’s a different meal). What I am trying to say with all this is that routin...

Books that Influenced The Novel. Posted by Jodie Louise. July 5, 2015. This last week I have been pretty ill, curled up, in pain, on top of my covers as it’s been bloody hot. Aside from wondering at how much longer this could last, if the doctors at A&E had missed something, if I would make it to Sunday, I started thinking about the various pieces of fiction that have influenced my current novel. 1 The Hungry Tide by Amitav Ghosh. 2 Gaia Theory by James Lovelock. 4 Atonement by Ian McEwan. It’s so ...

Summing It Up… If Only. | Jodie Louise

Summing It Up… If Only. Posted by Jodie Louise. May 18, 2015. As a writer on twitter I often get the question: so what’s your novel about? And let me tell you, that is a hard question to answer at the best of times. But on twitter? That is a whole other level of evil. That’s 140 characters to explain a story that spans 70k words. I could make some witty comparisons but it’s a Monday and I’ve just been on a train for a few hours so, you know, make them up yourself. May 18, 2015 at 1:14 pm. You are comment...

Encouragement | Jodie Louise
https://jodielouisewrites.wordpress.com/2015/06/04/encouragement
Posted by Jodie Louise. June 4, 2015. I look at something that I should do, I think of something that I have been working on, and it whispers to me. You could be working harder, you should be doing more, there are more important things than writing, there are more important things than. I have to fight it if I can, last night I won out in the end because I managed to get to sleep. And this morning I have woke up feeling a little optimistic. That’s probably a post for another day.
