Coming back to basics, from whence it all began. December 31, 2015. It’s way too obvious that my blogging didn’t turn out the way it was intended at the beginning of this journey. Health problems between my husband and myself (2 surgeries within 4 months last summer) took up a lot of effort and time to heal. Blogging took a back seat to these issues and other life’s events. It’s almost 2016! Resolution. The word sounds good. The intent behind it is good. Best of all, is the resolution kept! Health…...

https://livingaselfsufficientlifestyle.wordpress.com/2016/03/25/candys-version-of-chicago-sweet-barbecue-sauce
Coming back to basics, from whence it all began. March 25, 2016. Candy’s Version of Chicago Sweet Barbecue Sauce. As I made it, I measured the contents of the bulk cans. The catsup can holds 11 cups of catsup and the tomato sauce came out at 12 cups exactly. I’ll share my recipe, but for this batch of BBQ sauce to can, I increased the proportions by 6 to use the entire cans of tomato sauce and catsup. Oh my! Is it ever good! Here we go…. Candy’s Version of Chicago Sweet BBQ Sauce. 2 cups tomato sauce.

mynotsocanadianlife | Canadian girl living in an American world
Canadian girl living in an American world. Time Flies…or so it seems. April 6, 2016. I just finished my last OB visit for my second and last child to be born in exactly one week. It is bittersweet. This pregnancy was a surprise to say the least. We hadn’t actually planned to have anymore after our first. We had our reasons for thinking this. I went to pick him up from work one day. Our then almost three-year old was in the back seat singing to the radio. After we finally realized that even though this wa...

Band of (Medical) Brothers =D. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Curse of the Pink Eye. I'm sure most overseas students with sinus and allergy problems hate it when their eyes gets itchy n their nose gets clogged up upon arrival on Malaysian soil. Blame it on the humidity n the dust! Eversince i got home frm Moscow my nose has been blocked 24/7 (pretty much the same situation everytime i'm in Malaysia for the past 20 yrs of my life) and my eyes started to itch like mad. Sick of the annoying itchiness, i got t...
