There are two methods of fishing. the first and most common one is by hook while the other method is by hand by way of re-diverting the water to a new route and making the previous water way/route dry and catch fish by hand. on shallow waters, catching by hand is also normal practise. More than 40,000 people in Upper Mendi, Southern Highlands, watched with joy last week when an excavator and other machines moved in to start the work. An excavator bought recently by the Mendi-Munhiu district moved into Ekari village to develop a new limestone quarry to fix feeder roads in the district.
