Stephen King once wrote that he was convinced that “fear is at the root of all bad writing.” At first, I was confused. You would think bad writers would be at the root of bad writing. Right? Of course. Did I write it anyways? Absolutely. Because King was right. Fear makes for bad writing. No one finishes a book and then says “Yeah I loved it so much! Jumping Off Of Cliffs That Are Not Real Cliffs. A significant event in my life. But what I wasn’t thinking was that I was in college. After all the stress of high school, then the application process for college, financial aid problems, uncertainty of if I would even get to go, I was here. What if my teachers hated me?
