Viking Conquest: June 2008
http://vikingconquest.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Jun 26, 2008. It's been difficult to keep up with my blogging following our re-entry into Canadian life (love that word - re-entry. Like a spaceship coming in for landing). In addition to the usual time constraints of a hectic household with two adults working and kids in elementary school, we've had to hammer out renovation plans, not to mention catch up on our social life after a year of hermit-like existence. The empowerment of having a choice, I suppose. All day long. In the vein of:. So this morning...

Viking Conquest: May 2008
http://vikingconquest.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
May 31, 2008. Between car options, birthday parties, countertop issues, camp planning, flooring choices, field trips and kitchen cabinet selections - not to mention catching up with friends here in Canada - I've been running around like a mad woman. I've had no time to gather my thoughts, let alone write about them here in my lovely, peaceful corner of the bloggy world. Labels: Life Getting In the Way of Blogging. May 28, 2008. Viking Conquest: February 2008
http://vikingconquest.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Feb 29, 2008. In our continuing mission to make Benjamin motion sick as frequently as possible this year, we are jetting off to La Plagne in France tomorrow. Thus, we're in the midst of a packing frenzy, snowpants, jackets, hats and gloves flying this way and that, as I try to guess just how many pairs of mitts a boy can possibly soak in a single day. Mike is downstairs stuffing the ski bags with skis, poles, helmets, boots and other goodies. This will be my first ever. Feb 28, 2008. Did I expect to find...

Viking Conquest: November 2007
http://vikingconquest.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Nov 30, 2007. There's no mice in Norway". To Mike - last year, after discovering suspicious signs in our cold room. There are mice in Canada. And why do we live in Canada? Because one of us is Canadian. So, who's to blame for this mouse situation. That would be.YOU. I'll admit I was slightly wound up and possibly freaking out a tiny bit - I don't do well with rodents, so I'd had better days. You know,. It didn't help matters that the mouse. It is D.I.S.G.U.S.T.I.N.G. Cue the happy music. So, imagine my g...

Viking Conquest: April 2008
http://vikingconquest.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Apr 30, 2008. You Say Goodbye I Say Hello. Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my post yesterday. I felt much better after reading them. You are all so right - this is just the start of a new adventure, not the end of anything. Norway will still be there. Following a manic last-minute packing session, we flew off yesterday afternoon after a slightly teary, but all in all fairly stoic goodbye with my family. This is a suite! I think my boy will be disappointed next time we check into a Holiday I...

Viking Conquest: March 2008
http://vikingconquest.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Mar 31, 2008. I Have A Knot In My Tummy. And it's growing bigger every day. Tomorrow marks four weeks until we leave Norway and start our journey back to Canada, with a three week stopover in the UK. The countdown has definitely begun. Holy Moly, I am not. Ready for my gap year to end. When we started this adventure, I knew there'd be ups and downs. I expected things to not always go as planned, and for there to be days when I'd wish we'd never set out to do this year abroad. Time to really look at the c...

Viking Conquest: Outrage!
http://vikingconquest.blogspot.com/2008/06/outrage.html
Jun 20, 2008. Did you read this? Obviously, this report is too short and one-sided to tell the entire story. But if there is even an ounce of truth to it - well, colour me shocked and appalled. As a mother of a child who doesn't always fit the norm, this is truly my worst nightmare. Holy smokes, people! If the report is true, the teacher needs to lose her job. June 20, 2008 at 3:05 PM. I couldn't get the link, but I suspect I read about this one and was just blown away. Cannot imagine. Anyway Annie at Mo...
