My Turn to Helm. Sunday, 24 July 2016. Hilary and Charlotte came up and spent a few days on the boat and sightseeing around Peterhead. Then we left the boat on the pontoon and drove home. That was Monday 20th June. Finally returned to the boat with Alice on Friday 22nd July. Left Peterhead for Stonehaven on Saturday morning, not a very nice trip, very rough and tedious motoring all the way into a brisk south wind. Now moored up in Arbroath marina which is in a very active fishing harbour.

My Turn to Helm. Thursday, 28 July 2016. Alice and I caught the train up on the 22nd July and arrived 1 1/2 hours late at Aberdeen and caught a bus through the rain to Peterhead. There was a gift of a can of beer from the Faeroes left by a solo sailor Thomas I had met when last in Peterhead. Since I had seen him last he had sailed over to the Islands and back. My Turn to Helm. Sunday, 31 May 2015. How to fill a day off the water. The forecast today as I mentioned was for a windy wet day so I decided to do some jobs. The first thing to do was fix the throttle which was sticking. I had a word with someone at the marine engineers yesterday and he sucked his teeth and spoke of dire possibilities. We arrived at Port Edgar, Queensferry under the Forth Bridges, yesterday evening after a gruelling motor and sail up the Firth of Forth.Wind was F5 from the west so in our faces just about all the way.
