My masters at the Imperial Senate have granted clemency and moved my sorry 190 mile commute ass to the other site in Manassas. As promised a photo. Miss millipede continues to thrive :). She's started to notice and actually eat the food i leave in her bowl. and has discovered millipedes love cucumber. I love millipedes. and now i have one! My co-worker rescued this guy from underneath the impending stompy doom of a hiker's boot. I made a small tank set up for the critter :). The substrate is spragnum peat moss mix and there's damp spragnum moss on top. i miss the cage and mossy clumps every day. The millipede is very active, so i am sure she (i think it's female) is healthy. she came along with some leaves, which i placed in the cage with her. those were devoured! Post a new comment. Looks like I've got company next to the computer desk - there's a small, stringy web (no clear structure) near where the base of a cabinet meets the wall. A few dead pillbugs/woodlice/rolly-pollies have been dangling in it for days, but tonight was the first night I saw the web's builder. Oh yeah, location is Washington, DC, USA. Or is she a species I don't need to worry about?

Urgent help needed with snail! I live in the Netherlands and it freezing cold outside, a thick blanket of snow, and now I find on my sink somehow a tiny snail, the kind with a shell, and of course I can't put it outside; it'll die in this weather. How can I look after this snail, to make it so it won't dry out? I put it in a glass that I made moist with a piece of banana now. What does it need so I can keep it alive until spring? My north american millipede does have a chunk of cuttlebone in her tank, and i do offer her rep-cal pellets, which she seems to enjoy (when she comes out to eat that is). I am curious, i had heard somewhere about giving egg shells to snails, that it helps them with their own shell. could egg shells be good for a 'pede? millipede leaves: invertebrates

My north american millipede is doing great :). Still very active and eating lots. there are many oak trees in my neighboorhood so collecting nice ones for her has been easy. She's also eating cucumber now and nibbled soem on mustard greens and grapes. i sprinkle "rep-cal" calcium supplement on some of the items offered. What other kinds of leaves are safe for them? Also, does anyone have suggestions about keeping leaves so i'll have them throughout the winter for her? Photos next time i promise ;).
