Nameless Painter: November 2013

http://www.namelesspainter.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Because every miniature has its story. Friday, November 22, 2013. With painted Mr. Bones. On the shelf I was ready for more painting. The Rotten Harvest. Contest held at the Wyrd forum. Gave me a good excuse to take another miniature and motivation to paint it quickly. Quick research in my boxes returned this Pegaso Models. Demon in 54mm scale. I thought "Sure, why not" and painted it. Yeah, just like that. Fight Fire With Fire. Fire Walk With Me. This Red Box Games. OK then, here's my third entry. When ...

Nameless Painter: Mr. Bones

http://www.namelesspainter.blogspot.com/2013/11/mr-bones.html

Because every miniature has its story. Tuesday, November 19, 2013. As you already know I did not paint for few months. In the meantime I've received my Reaper Bones kickstarter set. I have a lot of plastic miniatures lying around now. I do mean a lot! When I had decided to get back to the painting table I just put my hand into the bag and pulled few miniatures out of it. Mr. Bones, the kickstarter project mascot was one of them. Looked like a good way to start painting that huge pile of Bones. Hey again,...

Because every miniature has its story. Monday, July 8, 2013. Nameless Guard: Squad Fly. This Nameless Guard could look quite boring. Plague marines, rhino, plague marines, rhino, plague marines, rhino. But, then came the terminators. and demons. And then came this cool guy, Jabberwocky. With a set of converted wings and a very short instruction: "I want you to use them". You've made my army more interesting and varied. This shall not be forgotten. Thursday, July 4, 2013. Ouch again. Wings only. Hey again...

Nameless Painter: June 2013

http://www.namelesspainter.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Because every miniature has its story. Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Nameless Guard - Looking for Nameless. This whole army project is slowly coming to (hopefully) successful end. The problem is I don't have the most important model yet. There are many different options on the market, I'm trying to pick the best one. Wanna help? A greater demon would be a great centerpiece in my army. There is the official GW. But it's a Finecast model. Forge World. Model is even bigger and most probably of a higher quality.

Zombicide Runner and Fatty. May 17, 2015. The zeds are my current palette cleanser kinda thing, I look at them like running scales on guitar (or in greenie’s case, exploring inversions). Started putting some basecoats on a runner and a fatty. Nothing fancy here like greenie with the limited palette. Just going to paint these guys up to keep the brush warmish. October 2, 2015. Deion Sanders was not hurt in the writing of this post. Primed a bunch of stuff. Ran out of black so only zenithal primed a few. My den is still tore up from integrating a new desk so I need to see if I have another can of black primer stashed somewhere…. Tagged Fantasy Flight Games. Kingdom Death: Monster Survivors WIP 2. August 10, 2016. I wanted to expand a bit on my post yesterday about mocking up the colors in GIMP. Basically, I take a fairly transparent paint brush and paint in layers. Usually each color block is a layer, but this time I got lazy (sword, armor and lights are all on one layer). Zombicide Ramsay WIP 1. September 13, 2015. 7 Days to Die WIP 1. May 8, 2015. Title tentative, just wanted to start mocking this up and needed to name the WIP folder. The position of the left arm is going to be tricky, it&#8217...

Oathsworn Mage WIP 7. July 10, 2016. I took a page from James Wappel’s basing techniques and used some paste along with a little army painter rubble to make the floor a bit more dungeony. Hopefully it should bind together ok, then I’ll sand the edges, hit it with primer and get to work. Oathsworn Mage WIP 6. July 9, 2016. Overall I had fun getting into the groove with this phase of the project, which promises good things for the future of my ability to put minis in cooler settings. Oathsworn Mage WIP 5.

August 18, 2016. More or less base coated now. Takes so long trying to figure out all those contrasts and making sure everything works as a whole! But I think I’ve got a pretty good handle on it now. Also need to dial up my brush control in a big way. August 16, 2016. Not much, but it’s a start…. Just the very first couple coats of base coat on a few spots. Spent most of the evening getting the new desk setup and looking around for paints, deciding on first colors, etc. August 10, 2016. August 9, 2016.

Tag Archives: Red Box Games. July 8, 2015. I’m not dead…yet! Mostly been spending any hobby time I get here and there doing some prep work so that I can focus on painting this winter. I also have the Grudge bust and a couple more zombicide things underway (forgot I have three or four survivor/zombivor pair prepped, too). Oh, and a couple KD pieces I pulled for a possible scene. Ah, well. See anything you like in there? Tagged Dark Sword Miniatures. May 9, 2015. Toughest Girls of the Galaxy. May 8, 2015.

May 9, 2015. I got the soldier into position after some convolutions trying to get everything lined up. Should be close enough that I can work with it when positioning on the final base. Sorry for the blurry pic! Superglued the arms into position, but the torso wasn’t socketing in clean (probably my crappy prep work! So after I smoothed over the very small gaps in the shoulders with GS, I used the GS to attached the two halves of the body and then smoothed that over. Click to email (Opens in new window).

July 31, 2015. Quick and dirty summer painting continues with another season 1 zed from Zombicide. As usual, great sculpts with crappy casting, but hey…it’s game plastic. So feel free to slap paint and have fun! I think the total time for this dude ran just over four hours after filling in the base. As usual for these guys I just re-used colors on the palette for the base. Hope you enjoy these guys. They’re fun to paint and helping me keep my sanity during the painting doldrums! July 30, 2015. Welcome to what will be the last “Name This PC” for awhile. I think I’ll keep something happening in the Monday spot, but I’m not quite sure what yet, and it may be a few weeks before that starts up again. For those of y’all who are new, here’s how it works:. I draw a nameless player character, and you leave a comment with what that PC’s name should be.
