Monday, January 27, 2014. Ah culture differences. Gotta love them:-)! I wrote most of this post the week we arrived in Botswana but never finished it. I finally decided to finish and post it now. Note: this was before I was showing my pregnancy at all. Arriving at the car, Auntie grabbed my hand and said with enthusiasm, "You're too fat! Not knowing what she meant, I smiled - it must be an English mis-speak. I don't think I'm too. Kagi saw the exchange and laughed. "She's complimenting you, Laura! I love...

All posts for the month September, 2014. Learning a new skill. On September 26, 2014. I have worn out two targets during the past nine months of archery practice. I found a bow that seemed right for me on Craigslist.com: a reasonably priced, lightly used, five-year old, left-handed bow made by one of the leading manufactures. I shoot left-handed. My son picked it up for me and when he brought it home I excitedly tried to draw it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t! This is what I wrote in my journal December 16th:.

All posts by gregoryfritz. Physical and spiritual gardens. On March 11, 2016. Discouraged, I went to the Lord in prayer. By God’s grace, the very day I prayed, I met Dean! I wonder why I don’t pray about everything? Maybe I should pray continually…. On January 21, 2016. I had the idea that I wanted to re-purpose some of the old boards from my woodpile and build bookshelves for my office. The design worked well in my head and even when I drew it on paper. However, after I started actually building...It wa...

All posts for the month February, 2015. Meeting our soon-to-be neighbors. On February 27, 2015. Nancy and I visiting “The Poplar Chapel” Christmas Eve 2014. I spent much of last weekend working on the 50 year old abandoned church building that Nancy and I hope to transform into our home in Lititz, PA. It snowed and so periodically our future neighbors came out to shovel their walks and driveways. When I saw them, I introduced myself and had short conversations. When I relayed the conversation to Nancy, s...

An “exciting” twist at the Zoning Hearing Board meeting. On May 13, 2015. We need a variance to build a garage in the spot where Nancy is standing. The first text message I received was, “The previous owner is here…already had an objection.”. We thought we were prepared for anything, but we did not anticipate the previous owner would object to our plans. I breathed a little easier when I received the next message a few minutes later that said, “Lawyer doing great.”. I explained to Paul, “He has inv...

All posts for the month January, 2015. I’ve got the flu and I’m struggling to be patient! On January 29, 2015. It takes a day like today to remind me that I am not a patient person. I like progress. I like forward movement. I like to be productively engaged. Today, I don’t see a lot of progress and there is not much I can do except wait. Ultimately, I am not waiting for restored health, colleagues, and sellers. I am waiting on the Lord and trusting in his powerful and kind resolution of these and all...

What if God leads us somewhere else? On May 25, 2015. Nancy and I started ministering under the. Even though our work with. So, what if God leads us somewhere else before we complete our “chapel-house” project? What if God leads us to relocate shortly after we move into that residence? Nancy and I are aware of these possibilities. Nevertheless, our desire and intention is to continue to trust God and to be flexible and available regardless of where he leads and how he directs. Friday, April 5, 2013. Adventure in the Dales. Kagi and I had a really exciting week last week. There are lots of stories to be told, and although it is no longer lent so I probably won't be blogging daily, I'll try to tell them. First, I'll tell about the climax of our week. In the autumn, Kara. We rode our bikes down to the train station about a mile from home and took the train to Ilkley, a beautiful town on the edge of the Dales. From there, we rode our bikes to Bolton Abby. After our lunch, Kagi and...
