The blankets below have been made by people from the local communities of the Ogmore Valley and Bridgend, some of whom are making the blankets as part of their rehabilitation after an accident or illness. The blankets, are comfortable, warm and cosy. They are washable, but would need to be treated as wool, i.e. cool wash, careful drying after a good spin and should last many years. The web site of. SAVE THE BERWYN GROUP. The workmens hall was built in Nantymoel in 1901 with subscriptions from the valley’s colliers and workers. It catered for miners and their families in every form of social activity. In 1931 there was the opening of the talkies, which became the new main source of entertainment for twenty years. Later, in 1952, it was changed to the Berwyn centre, with alterations inside and out. There was a workmans accident fund made up to pay for this building. 6th june, 2013.
