This last year has been like a music class in which I've learned a lot about both what I like, and what is good. If you want to know something about me, then take a look at this music which I have sometimes discovered, and more often been introduced. They all understand days that are over will not continue to last"]. Posted by brian at 8:39 PM. And So It Ends. I said goodbye to my break. It bothers me becau...

Drawing bright lines in the sand. Sunday, October 02, 2005. So I had two encounters on Friday that were about as polarized as any two encounters can be. The first was a conversation with a woman at Starbucks. She was in her early thirties, and typing extensively while referencing out of a book that showed it had been read, and thoroughly you know, the ones with highlighting all over the place and scribbling in the margins, etc. She has my respect and admiration. She replied non-chalantly, "Yes," and star...

The Future- -In Your Pocket. I have two lexicons- phrases I use constantly inside my mind, and those I say out loud. Now, there's a lot of cross-over between the two. For example, in both lexicons the phrase "I wonder-" is at the top of the list. But there are many divergences. And " you know what I mean? I prop...

Perkle ate my coffee grounds! Wednesday, March 22, 2006. I lose some sales and my boss won't be happy. But I can't stop listening to the sound. Of two soft voices mended in perfection. From the reels of this record that I found. Every day there's a boy in the mirror. Asking me, "What are you doing here? Finding all my previous motives. I've traveled far and I've burned all the bridges. I believed as soon as I hit land. All the other options held before me. Will wither in the light of my plan.

Perkle ate my coffee grounds! Thursday, November 17, 2005. Imogen Heap (lead singer of the group Frou Frou- you heard them at the end of Garden State. Has come out with her own album, which is startlingly compelling. I was afraid from the single they released ("Goodnight and Go," which made its debut on the show The OC. That the band had gotten all poppy on me. In fact, it's clear from a few listens that "Goodnight and Go" is easily the weakest track on the CD. Posted by brian @ 4:01 PM. The stilly murmu...

Biola has some really neat student-organized activities, especially when it comes to music. Tonight was the kickoff of "the eddy," a concert held every Thursday on campus. While the music is enjoyable, and the admission free, I would still like to air a grievance. That's right: most of the audience is "scene." What is "scene," you ask? But let...

Drawing bright lines in the sand. Sunday, July 31, 2005. In case you've been living in a closet or just don't listen to science news, a tenth planet has been discovered in our solar system. There's a chance that there are more planets out there, but this one is a certainty. I would have posted something witty and clever about this development, like a letter to planet X, but Kathy. Beat me to it and did a superb job. So I turn to its name. Goddess of thresholds and door-hinges. God of the growth in plants.

Drawing bright lines in the sand. Thursday, December 15, 2005. I have a link here. I must warn you. Clicking may mean the loss of your soul because the subject of the link is both addicting and aggravating. Annoy yourself into a coma. The game is Sudoku. The point of the game is to get the numbers 1-9 in each of the nine 3x3 cubes, across each row, and down each column. The definition of addiction is an artificial need and consequent hatred for something. Well, I'm addicted. Posted by brian at 7:53 PM.
