Useful Info | Narrowboat Hire | England UK- Star Narrowboat Holidays
http://starnarrowboatholidays.co.uk/canal-and-local-information.html
Canal and local information. We like the canal route planner from CanalPlan AC. It will help you work out how many hours per day to travel, where to stop for the night - a great tool for say the Cheshire Ring or the Four Counties. In October 2016 Star Narrowboat Holidays achieved QAB status! Did you know that bread is not good for ducks and other birds on the canal? A great website useful for canal boat holiday planning,. Excellent for info on routes, culture and history of the canal system in the UK.

Sleepypete's Pillow: July 2015
http://iceangelthemerc.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Musings of a person who spends far too much time on computer games, outside of summer when I’m getting hit by cricket balls. There's a few more Sleepypete's out there, it's only me if you see the Dwagon. Thursday, July 30, 2015. We're seeing tech get ever more into our lives. That's intrusive tech, invasive tech, playful tech used intrusively . other things. A common theme there is what people do with the tech. Here's the info from Register. Shotgun guy did what he could to minimise risk to the neighbour...

Narrowboat Kantara: February 2015
http://nb-kantara.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Living a dream on the UK's inland waterways. Wednesday, February 18, 2015. I don't like letting this much time pass between blog posts, but then I don't like writing posts which really have little to say. I've been looking back over the blog's past years, and frankly I. Initially, maybe Lulu. Too It'd be good to have it actually in real print on real paper in a real cover. We want to replace the carpet in the boat, but we'd like to keep what's on the wall up to dado height - which is pristine - and get c...

Narrowboat Kantara: March 2015
http://nb-kantara.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Living a dream on the UK's inland waterways. Monday, March 30, 2015. Work starts, eventually. Finally, Grace was able to ease the boat into the bay from which she was craned up and laid on trestles. Kantara, that is, not Grace. Then came a two-hour pressure-hosing. We carried on to the Foxton Locks Inn for lunch. Boaters will be very thankful as they glide past in future. One of the team remained, clearing up the smaller bits of tree from the towing-path. The "bobbles" on the surface are drops of water.

Narrowboat Kantara: A bit of a detour - Sawley Cut
http://nb-kantara.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-bit-of-detour-sawley-cut.html
Living a dream on the UK's inland waterways. Saturday, July 25, 2015. A bit of a detour - Sawley Cut. A large group of volunteers were working hard on a stretch of the bank, removing huge swathes of the pernicious Himalayan Balsam which would take over the waterways, given half a chance. Well done, Friends of CRT! San Fairy Ann leading the way. Ahead, Dave, straight ahead! Dave and Sandy got soaked, filling their water tank. It was a lovely evening, however. Narrowboat Kantara: October 2014
http://nb-kantara.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Living a dream on the UK's inland waterways. Saturday, October 25, 2014. Though I hope this post will be of interest to readers, I'm writing it largely as a personal aide memoire of details which are very important to me - though that's pretty much the purpose of the whole blog. One day, I'll want to look back on this part of my life, and the blog will remind me of details I might otherwise forget. Which really inspired me. And we both started Intermittent Fasting. And then something happened. Is a fairl...

Narrowboat Kantara: August 2015
http://nb-kantara.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Living a dream on the UK's inland waterways. Friday, August 28, 2015. Android apps for canal users - Part 3. In part 1, I told you about the Canal Boat magazine app, which I don't use. But I have just installed another app by the same publisher. Canal Boat Cruise Guide. Obviously, there are more detailed and comprehensive sources of this information, but I've found it gives enough for me to get a good idea of what a route, and the places en route, are like. Useful, I think. Links to this post. Until yest...

Narrowboat Kantara: January 2015
http://nb-kantara.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Living a dream on the UK's inland waterways. Monday, January 19, 2015. Our week in the Lake District. On Monday, we felt more energetic! We didn't travel beyond Derwentwater, but did a lot of walking along its banks. The weather was mainly dry, but with a biting wind which gusted strongly at times. The water was higher than ever. We had lunch at Bryson's Tea Room. Huge pieces of very tasty quiche with a huge mixed salad. The long walks paid off; the lakes take on a new beauty, even in the lightest of snow.
