Cooler scarves

A range of blue cooler scarves. Other colours available,. Hot under the collar? Hand dyed or painted silk scarves with cooling pad. Silk has great insulation properties, meaning it can be worn all year round, i.e. cool in summer and warm in winter. Silk is much lower in density compared to cotton,wool or nylon. It is, therefore, highly moisture absorbent, able to absorb as much as a third of it's own weight in moisture without feeling damp. Perfect for summer! Create a free website.

Finally, after many months of delving into the watery depths the big Sea Bed piece is off to the framers! It is sorely tempting to have the perspex of the frame removable so that I can add just one more fish or coral to this complex environment. Silk fibre lampshades that are a lustrous artwork unlit and provide a soft glow of rich colours when turned on. Many are embellished with stitch, layers of collage and found objects. All are created with love. A variety of styles and sizes available from slim table lamps and pendants to larger drum shades. They come in bonded style with quality reflective paper or a "softie" lantern style which can be hung as a pendant or suspended from a floor lamp base. Into the Forest(lit view 1). Don't Be Koi!

These cuddly cuties have been developed as part of my residency with the Northern Territory Wildlife Park, Artist in the Park programme. The original design is completed in silk, photographed and adjusted for print. The printing: The digital print fabric is a Belgian Cotton Linen Fibre printed, in Australia, with environmentally friendly inks. My work is predominantly made through the process of fusing silk fibres together. My subjects are photographed and drawn. Then the material making begins. Often I will take many passes to create the subtle shades and shapes I need. Embroidery is added to give a textural element and a line drawn in thread. Create a free website.
