A quick note and lots of pictures about the holidays. January 18, 2015. The holiday season started out with a happy and warm Thanksgiving with a crowd in Tucson. Some friends from church, some friends from school. We all gathered together and ate our hearts out. The following weeks were filled with much caroling, decorating, and festivities in preparation for Christmas. Sunset Picnic & Hike →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. August 25, 2015. August 25, 2015. She knows what makes her feel good and valued and she is ever giving of that to others as well. She met lots of cousins and second cousins, many of whom I haven’t seen in years, and a few whom I met for the first time myself. Eliza still gets overwhelmed in crowds and is slow to warm up to people. This weekend in particular, she had some emotional breakdowns over sharing toys with a second cousin a year older than her. August 23, 2015. And Matt and I were invited to be t...

Gardening, Episode IV: A New Hope | Matthew and Theresa

Gardening, Episode IV: A New Hope. April 13, 2015. April 12, 2015. In my last post about gardening, I promised that we would try again. Our fourth garden attempt, which we planted in late January, is actually moving along pretty well. Slowly, but surely. After about a month our garden looked like this, with freshly planted tomato starts in the front box. By harvest I mean we can eat a few peas every few days. We also got some surprise carrots that came up from last year’s planting. I had no idea! Fill in...

Summer loving →. June 13, 2014. This week Allie turned ONE YEAR OLD! I can’t even believe it. This whole month has been filled with excitement for her, and with this milestone birthday I figured it was time for an Allie update. Here are her most recent firsts:. First time army crawling forward (and scooting). I’m trying to help her get better at going from sitting to tummy, but most of the time she’ll opt for the bum scoot across the floor. Silly girl. First time trying sour cream. I was holding it for h...

Obsessions / vent session. March and other madness →. March 21, 2014. In her nine months out of the womb, I’ve probably only left Allie alone for an extended period with someone else (including Ben) nine times. I. This cycle repeats itself in my mind over and over, and I just end up staying with Allie all the time. But, for Allie’s benefit, I think it’s time I try to loosen my grip a bit. So the plan is that I’ll just start with small chunks of time. That way, it works her and me up to longer s...IsnR...

A Song and a Dance. December 14, 2015. Eliza has a wild imagination, and she’s starting to really show off her musical side. She has always liked dancing, but she recently started singing and playing musical instruments. Here she is on the clarinet. She also enjoys telling us about her dreams. You’re very lucky if you get featured in one of these–congratulations Andrea and Zak. November 29, 2015. We had some pretty good success this time around. Check out Eliza beside the garden a couple weeks ago! Skipp...

Welcome to Arkansas (Post 1 of 2). July 26, 2015. A month ago we got home from a really fun business/camping trip to Northwest Arkansas. I attended a conference at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville (which is a great little city, by the way… see the photos below). Branson also has a really nice waterfront along the White River. We spent a while wandering along the boardwalk. The weather was pretty hot (and humid), so it was nice to be close to the water. Before driving down to Arkansa...These fal...

Goodbye, Arkansas (Post 2 of 2) | Matthew and Theresa
https://matthewandtheresa.wordpress.com/2015/07/27/goodbye-arkansas-post-2-of-2
Goodbye, Arkansas (Post 2 of 2). July 27, 2015. July 26, 2015. Our last two days in Arkansas were full of ups and down (not just from hiking, either). We saw some beautiful things, but Eliza and I took turns getting sick, and we ended up spending our last night in a cheap motel near the airport rather than cooking s’mores over the fire as we had planned. I think we just tried to cram too much into too few days. We started the day admiring the low clouds hanging over our campground along the river. Addres...
