The Pond of Aliswan. Getting all my ducks in a row. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Surprises and the joys of jet lag. Well I decided to pull a surprise.and it has been my best one so far. Last Monday my professor had a family emergency back in the States while we were in Turkey. Initially, because we thought things were ok, we decided to stay for the remaining 3.5 weeks of our trip. By Tuesday evening she decided her family needed her and we all decided to come home a little early. 16 hours on a plane baby.

Here is a quick picture summary. Break the fast for August. Feeding the ducks before the soccer game. Lunch break by the water falls on campus. Watching the CRAZY storm come in while waiting for the football game to start. The storm hit really, really hard. And we all hid under the bleachers. And Stephanie's first fire.

The Pond of Aliswan. Getting all my ducks in a row. Monday, April 30, 2012. Petra - Round 4. This was officially my 4th time in Jordan and my 3rd time at Petra. I remember leaving Jordan after my field school in 2008 and thinking that I would probably never see this beautiful place again. Thank you Heavenly Father. Coming to Petra felt like coming home. I loved every minute of it. I also got to go up to the Monastery for the 2nd time. Yep, it is still humongous. I think it was 769. It sure smelled amazing.

The Pond of Aliswan. Getting all my ducks in a row. Thursday, March 8, 2012. I like to understand why things are the way they are. Why I am the way I am. I feel that if I can't understand what I'm feeling, the least I can do is try to understand where that feeling is coming from. For example, when I am angry (which is a secondary emotion) I try to figure out what initial emotion caused that anger. But that is how it seems at the moment. So I try to ask the person who knows me best, my Heavenly Father.
