Recycling wars - The Urban Naturalist
http://naturescall.typepad.com/weblog/2011/04/recycling-wars.html?cid=6a00e008c71e4f88340162fda79597970d
Connecting wired and weary Americans with nature. April 25, 2011. Lichen, one of natures recyclers. The Urban Naturalist photo. A story in my local newspaper this morning described the conflict one of the areas smaller communities is having over recycling. One of the residents who is against having to recycle said his family doesnt produce enough to recycle. Really? Where does this guy buy stuff? When and how did we become so ecologically illiterate as a society? Apr 25, 2011 7:42:01 AM. A day for Earth.

But alas, I did not...

Connecting wired and weary Americans with nature. October 06, 2008. In the photo on the left are three newborn squirrels. Obviously, they are being raised by a human surrogate - that, or mama squirrel has taken to purchasing nesting materials in the baby aisle at Target. We had seen a large tree squirrel running out of the mouse hole over the summer but had no idea a mother had built her nest in there. Oddly, these squirrels were lying in the dirt without benefit of nesting materials. Our assumpt...Wheth...
