Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland – Pterodaktyl
http://www.pterodaktyl.co.uk/2013/04/01/wai-o-tapu
April 1, 2013. Hot pool at Wai-O-Tapu. We only had a few days in North Island, so after visiting the fantastic Zealandia wildlife sanctuary in Wellington and the predator-free reserve on Kapiti Island, we had a long drive north to Rotorua. We spent a night in a campsite beside the worryingly-high waters of Lake Rerewhakaaitu (so high, in fact, that we couldn’t pay for the campsite because the booth was under water! The Somerset Levels – Pterodaktyl

July 12, 2010. Shapwick Heath ( Li-Li Williams 2010). The first track is from Shapwick Heath National Nature Reserve (NNR) and was recorded at 9:30pm. Shapwick Heath and the adjoining Ham Wall NNR support a large population of introduced Marsh Frogs (. We never did hear a Bittern that day, but we certainly saw one – what both Lil and myself had taken to be a large tuft of grass about 10m in front of us on a grassy track suddenly spread its wings and flew away across the marshes. Shows just how ...I could...

This bird is going the same way as the crow. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and is only found on the narrow coastal strip of the northern Yucatán Peninsula. One of the key habitats of this species is the Petenes mangroves ecoregion of the Yucatan coast. It is threatened by habitat loss. Released February 25, 2006.

Night at Fraser’s Hill – Pterodaktyl
http://www.pterodaktyl.co.uk/2015/01/02/night-at-frasers-hill
Night at Fraser’s Hill. January 2, 2015. On our first night there I headed out into the gardens to see what night sounds I could capture. In the UK night recording generally requires low-noise microphones and pre-amps due to the almost complete lack of ambient noise. I soon realised that this wasn’t going to be the case in Malaysia – if anything the nocturnal soundscape was louder than the daytime one. Did you like this article? Share it with your friends!
