Baa Hózhǫ́ǫgo Nidizhchí - Navajo Language (Diné Bizaad)

https://navajowotd.com/word/baa-hozhoogo-nidizhchi

Baa Hózhǫ ǫgo Nidizhchí. Baa Hózhǫ ǫgo Nidizhchí. This special phrase is the Navajo version of Happy Birthday (to you) . Amazingly) this phrase would take the place of the first line. In order to fit the tune, most high tones and nasal marks are disregarded, so it would resemble The Birthday Song . But, if you’re like me and you could never memorize the “correct” lyric translation then just mumble along and stick to the tune! Expresses it – Nidizhchíiji Ánááhoolzhiizhígíí Baa Shił Hózhǫ.

Ak'éí - Navajo Language (Diné Bizaad)

https://navajowotd.com/word/akei

Yá’át’ééh shik’éí dóó shidiné’é. (Greetings my relatives and my people.). This is a more formal, yet intimate, way of greeting a large group. It’s part of an introduction that commonly precedes a speech, or address, of some sort. Ak’éí, and most nouns that are preceded by a-, is a non-possessive from of relatives and family. Add shi/ni/bi/nihi/etc. to say my/your/his (or her)/our (their) family. Here are a few elder family terms that are useful to know:. In Navajo (Diné Bizaad). Baa Hózhǫ ǫgo Nidizhchí.

Yá'át'ééh (Hello in Navajo) - Navajo Language (Diné Bizaad)

https://navajowotd.com/word/yaat-eeh

Yá’át’ééh (Hello in Navajo). Yá’át’ééh (Hello in Navajo). Literally: it is good (alternatively: it is well). This is the way to say hello in Navajo, and is the common Navajo greeting. Meeting people, these days, begins with the greeting, but it could also be used as a parting farewell. It’s not common to tell someone “goodbye,” but instead “see you later” or “Yá’át’ééh.”. I hope everyone’s day is good! Mą’iiłitsxoo’í →. Baa Hózhǫ ǫgo Nidizhchí. Click Here To Send E-Mail Feedback.

Ahéhee' - Navajo Language (Diné Bizaad)

https://navajowotd.com/word/ahehee

Our Navajo word for today is. It’s good to point out that the Navajo ‘h’ sound is a lot more exasperated when followed by a short (and a short high tone) ‘e’. The second ‘h’ is less pronounced, or more in line with normal English usage. Here are a few examples that are useful for understanding expressions of thanks:. Baa ahééh nisin, díidí. (About it I feel grateful, this here.). Bimá sání dóó bicheii ahéhee’ bidiní. (His grandma and his grandpa, thank you, you tell them.). Baa Hózhǫ ǫgo Nidizhchí.

Click here to get the NavajoWOTD eBook! In Navajo, tsé is the word for “rock” and bit’a’í refers to a wing. You may remember that one word for wing is at’a’. With the stem -‘í in bit’a’í, feathers are being referenced in such a way that their position can be described as extending in some “thin” fashion. Overall, this contributes to the idea of a wing.
