New Beginning Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (formerly known as NYC’s Top Dog opened in 2010) that pr ides itself in being the ONLY no-kill shelter in the Bronx. Our organization is dedicated to taking in unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray pets and to finding suitable homes for each of them, housing about sixty dogs and forty cats at a time with most being ready for adoption to their furever home. Once we receive an application, our dedicated group of volunteers works diligently to place all animals in the best home that suits both the adopter and the pet. We reserve the right to deny any person(s) application as well as follow up with the family after an adoption is approved. Procedure & Form. Pets Up For Adoption. We’d love to have you! We’re always in need of more helping hands. All you need is to be 18 years or older or be accompanied by an adult. If you are looking to volunteer for animal care, you must also attend one of our monthly training sessions. No previous experience necessary. We do ask our volunteer to make a 10-hour monthly commitment*. To volunteer as an Animal Care Volunteer:. 1 Sign up for a training session by clicking here. 3 Attend ONE training session.
