However, the river got fast and red boards came up which meant I had to stay a while. The river was so frothy the children nicknamed it the hot chocolate river. Here they are in a calmer moment. Thursday, 10 December 2009. The insulation is clearly doing it's job :). Sunday, 1 November 2009. This marked the start of things to come!

As much as I love winter, the only thing I hate about it is how it affects the health of my car. from the heater to the engine and also the headlights needs replacement with a led lighting strip. Saturday, 31 October 2009. I knew I wasn't going to make Oxford in time so stopped at lower heyford at 2pm to get a lift from mortimor bones to my childrens' Halloween party. Made it in time and I was so pleased to see them again. So far I've notched up 21.7 engine hours, I pulled campanula through a few locks with engine off at times so travelling time probably more. So tomorrow it's about 7 hours to Oxford. I reckon I need to leave at 7am to get back for the afternoon. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Thursday, 20 January 2011. The new Webasto boiler only lasted a few days and now will not run. I took the yellow 20 amp fuse out to reset the Fault shutdown module and it ran for a few hours. Then it started to put lots of smoke out of the exhaust and shut down again. I believe quite a few people are having trouble this winter with these units. I should have stuck with the Wallas Heater. Tuesday, 10 September 2013. Success. Well, blame it on old age. So hot at the show. We bought a large parasol for shade and a genny for power. I tried to do some maintenance on the boat. This visit is against the doctors orders and working caused the pains to return therefore an enforced rest was demanded. Blast. On 16th of August we went to the lake district for a family weekend. What a superb time was enjoyed by all. BBQ, walking, egg throwing and talking, talking, talking. Campanula - Maurice and Mo.

Sunday, 20 November 2011. Saltisford and Hatton Lock Flight. We have enjoyed a weekend touring Warwickshire. The museum in Warwick market place is well worth a visit. Social History, Huge Stuffed Bear, Coins, Fossils, A Stag Skeleton, roman remains, paintings and more. The Saltisford Canal Basin jam packed. Lovely Gardens Too. Leamington Spa has plenty to offer as well. The main Regency Parade held a Christmas Fair, lots to enjoy. Hatton Lock Flight, The Stairway to Heavon some said! Milly M - Maffi.

Friday, 20 May 2011. We visited the Forest of Dean for the walks and views. Whilst there we found the Dean Forest Railway, a heritage line. We enjoyed a few days travelling in the Cotswolds. We based ourselves in Cheltenham and enjoyed the whole area around. Painwick is just wonderful. . The church has 99 Yew trees in the grounds. The Stocks" below by Stocks Cottage. There is a lovely little shop run by an American Lady. Very friendly. We ambled about checking which houses had "Donkey Doors".

The sea has been flat calm with sails racing around buoys, today really rough. Snow disrupted traffic throughout the counties on Monday.
