Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Maria McEvoy - Textiles. Maria McEvoy on Flickr. My studio work is inspired by footprints. This concept influenced the structure of my finished pieces, firstly working with flat surfaces, translating impressions to them and then creating the cushions (you disturb and distort the surface of cushions when you come in contact with them, leaving an impression behind). Integrating art - promoting creativity?: September 2010
http://boostingcreativity.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Integrating art - promoting creativity? Tuesday, September 28, 2010. The term officially started yesterday, although I don't register until tomorrow and have induction on Friday. I decided to start by reading some of the articles I have collected. It seemed easiest to start with the As so I read about a range of topics yesterday. Here's a short summary (I intend to do this every few days, so I have a record of my reading that I can't lose):. Vol 14 No 2 pp 267-276. Terence and O’Hara. Vol 34 No 4 pp 22-30.

http://boostingcreativity.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Integrating art - promoting creativity? Tuesday, October 5, 2010. It's been an exciting week and although I didn't get to read as much as I planned, I did make many new contacts and attended two days of stimulating discussion that will probably lead to paths I hadn't considered before. I spent eight hours in total on trains to and from Dublin and made use of the time reading sections from Nurturing Creativity in the Classroom. Beghetto and Kaufman, 2010); The Educational Psychology of Creativity. Friday ...

Tracy Brady - Textiles: I'm Back
http://tracybtextiles.blogspot.com/2008/03/im-back.html
Tracy Brady - Textiles. Tuesday, March 11, 2008. These pieces are clearly just samples and although i'm not entirely happy with them i do like the way in which the harshness of the nuts contrasts with the delicate nature of the thread. The sculptural form of the nut is also quite interesting in a non functional and aesthetic way. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Looking forward to finishing up and getting out there teaching. I began to trap organic matter in ice, looking at the effect the ice would have on the objects. Observing the cracks and distortions created by the ice, I focused on drawing and collage techniques and finally worked with crystal resin. St Fintans High School, Sutton.
