NORTH CAROLINA COUNCIL OF THE BLIND. In the fall of 1967, five North Carolina residents Marie Boring, Theodore Bryant, Edison Craddock, Marvin Gatlin and Brady Jones and three representatives from the American Council of the Blind Durward McDaniel, Oral Miller and Floyd Qualls met at the public library in Greensboro to establish a new organization for the blind and visually impaired citizens of North Carolina. In subsequent years, Theodore Bryant and Brady Jones assumed major leadership roles in NCCB.
