Kyle Baumann and Brian Coffman were sworn-in as CASA advocates by Judge John Steinheider on June 21, 2016. A total of 52 Cass County children are currently under the jurisdiction of the court because of abuse and/or neglect. Children range in age from birth to 19 years old. Contact Cass County CASA. You Can Make a Difference in a Child's Life. A CASA volunteer works with one family at a time and is a volunteer sworn in as an officer of the court. They are able to report to the court and remain involved with the child until that child is in a safe and permanent home. Speaking Up for a Child Is Important and Rewarding. Be 21 years of age or older and have their own transportation. Be able to read and communicate clearly in English. Participate in at least 30 hours of training.
