It all started with the bananas. | Three Girl Pile-Up
https://threegirlpileup.wordpress.com/2011/07/16/it-all-started-with-the-bananas
8230;adventures of our homeschooling family. It all started with the bananas. Three overripe bananas, that is, brought to us by Steve’s cousin Laura as she headed back home. Along with a number of other goodies like a pint of local heavy cream and a half-gallon of ice cream. Oh yes, I said, I’d love those bananas. There’s a recipe I’ve been wanting to try that calls for three ripe bananas. It’s this. I tweaked the recipe more than a little. I added an egg, because I consider pastured eggs a health fo...

The clothesline. | Three Girl Pile-Up
https://threegirlpileup.wordpress.com/2011/07/24/the-clothesline
8230;adventures of our homeschooling family. Of all the things I love here in New York, the clothesline is one of my favorites. It is long and sturdy and perfectly place to catch bright sun and drying breezes. Situated between the cabin and the bunkhouse, we are often ducking under damp clothes to get from one building to the next. I love seeing clothes strung out on the line, swinging in the wind. Is it going to rain? Should we bring them in now? Life at home will always be busier. For one thing, ma...

An impulse buy pays off. | Three Girl Pile-Up
https://threegirlpileup.wordpress.com/2011/07/26/an-impulse-buy-pays-off
8230;adventures of our homeschooling family. An impulse buy pays off. Okay, I admit it. I’m a bit of a sucker for an enticing craft kit. Which is maybe a little strange, given my love of free-form, open-ended crafting. There’s just something about having a package that has all the parts that you need to make something fun–no gathering required. No thinking required! With any luck, it’s instant fun in a box. Squirt bottles of dye out on the grass (instead of anywhere inside the house) makes for a much mor...

In a fold of a leaf, who canst form thee a bower,. And a palace enjoy in the tube of a flower;. Ah, why, simple Ladybird, why doust thou venture,. Then payi...

String Geekery: New Pattern: Paper Snowflake
http://string-geekery.blogspot.com/2011/07/new-pattern-paper-snowflake.html
Monday, July 18, 2011. New Pattern: Paper Snowflake. I love cutting paper snowflakes, with twelve folds and six symmetrical points. This knitted snowflake looks very much like one of my paper ones. Knit these from the center out in cotton, linen, or hemp and then starch to use as ornaments. Knit in any fiber and use as appliqués. Good for using up leftovers from other projects. 8-10 yards of laceweight on size 0 needles; about 19 yards of worsted on size 8 needles. Casting on for the center of a doily.

http://rebekahanderson.blogspot.com/2011/08/knit-and-natter-returns.html
Crying out to make God beautiful. Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Knit and natter returns. Well, it has been a month of silence here on the blog. 50-60 hour work weeks and trips to Paris just aren't that conducive to writing, at least for me! I hope to do a few catching up posts, but for now this is what I am knitting and reading this week. Or, more correctly, what I finished knitting and reading! Over the weekend I finished a hat for my sister's birthday on Saturday. It's the Purl Beret. I hope you enjoyed ...
