Computer science and biochemistry. I had originally planned to major in biology, but I enjoyed my work in my computer science courses, and decided to pursue an education in computer science and biochemistry as an undergrad. I worked as a programmer with a team of scientists on the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute's 2011 iGEM. Team, writing code to analyze and validate genetic constructs built with GenoCAD. We presented our work, Characterization of Fluorescent Reporters, at the 2011 iGEM Jamboree.
