Favorite Family Recipes: Turkey Paprikash

http://neverboredrecipes.blogspot.com/2015/07/turkey-paprikash.html

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. After our vacation, it was time to once again get serious about eating more healthily. So I turned to our New Dieter's Cookbook. And Turkey Paprikash caught my eye. So, it may not look as pretty as the picture in the book, but it definitely tasted great, and we'll be having it again some day. 1 medium onion, sliced or chopped. 1 cup chopped, cooked turkey or chicken. 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules. 2 tablespoons flour (I usually use Wondra flour. 1 tablespoon tomato paste.

Favorite Family Recipes: November 2014

http://neverboredrecipes.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 17, 2014. We all love the Costco muffins, even if they are too rich and huge for daily consumption. A while ago I came across a copy-cat recipe. And decided to give it a try. The finished result tasted just like the original, although since I made them at home they were normal-sized muffins. And if you do it that way, it's only 133 calories per muffin! We tried the chocolate version, but someday I'll try some of the other ones. 18 ounce cake mix. 1 teaspoon baking powder.

Favorite Family Recipes: Spinach Salad with Grilled Shrimp

http://neverboredrecipes.blogspot.com/2015/08/spinach-salad-with-grilled-shrimp.html

Monday, August 10, 2015. Spinach Salad with Grilled Shrimp. The last time we had a barbecue lunch we had hot dogs. They were fine, but this time I wanted something a little more special. Hamburgers aren't really special, although they are delicious, so I went searching for a new idea. This recipe - Spinach Salad with Grilled Shrimp. Spinach Salad with Grilled Shrimp. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. 1 tablespoon orange juice. 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil. 1/1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 garlic clove, minced.

Taste Buds Unite: January 2014

http://tastebudsunite.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

A Delectable Collection of Recipes. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Here is the lead singer of the dish I made for Amy and Scott. You need a big chunk of meat :-). Ok, I don't know the names of the different beefs, I think I bought like a top roast or something like that. I've done it with different ones and it works, so find something you like that can be shredded and you'll be good. Add two cloves of garlic and some oregano. And that is it! A lot of little steps but you get used to it pretty quickly.

Taste Buds Unite: Allen's Rice Cakes

http://tastebudsunite.blogspot.com/2015/08/allens-rice-cakes.html

A Delectable Collection of Recipes. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. I told my kids we were having rice cakes for dinner and they were super confused and very concerned that they would never get full. I somehow temporarily forgot about the rice cakes made by companies like Quaker and I was super confused about why they were super confused and told them that if they ate enough, they would get full. 2 C uncooked calrose or other medium-grain "sticky" rice*. 8 oz bacon, chopped. Combine rice and water in a rice co...

JENETTE'S FAMILY BLOG: September 2011

http://jenettesfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Being different makes you interesting". Sunday, September 4, 2011. In 2010, we failed to put in a garden. I missed the fresh taste of garden vegetables. Jonathan helped dig up and spade the dirt. I bought seedlings and Jonathan and Martha helped me plant them. This is the first real basket of harvest we got. Yumm! We Took Hunter to the Beach! Since summer was fading fast, we spontaneously went to the beach one Monday! It was fun, but not really the place for him. On the way home, Hunter was exhausted!

The photos were on my iPod, which I had forgotten, and kept wondering "where are those photos"? I got them downloaded and here is what we did:. These were all over the internet! Also, very easy! Looping the ribbon through the washer and adding a bead, it was ready for a clasp. I used a crimp end like this. Bleach Pen Tote Bags. The girls pic...

Being different makes you interesting". Sunday, May 8, 2011. In Honor of My Mother Venita Mae Hult Harrieth. Since it is Mother's Day, I stop to reflect about my own mother. She was the best mom for me! Mom and Dad on their wedding day, March 31, 1951. Mom and I loved to craft so we were there many a Saturday. JENETTE'S FAMILY BLOG: February 2012

http://jenettesfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Being different makes you interesting". Friday, February 17, 2012. Tuesday was Valentine's Day. Upon waking that morning, I was bummed that I didn't have a special Valentine this year. That's okay. Katie did text me to ask if I would be her Valentine since she didn't have one, and I said of course! While I was out doing some errands, I stopped at Trader Joe's and bought myself flowers. I wasn't feeling sorry for myself, however, I wanted some flowers that day! They can brighten any day! Planted some new ...

Being different makes you interesting". Friday, September 21, 2012. Chance of a Lifetime! When those moments of "chance of a lifetime" come along, I have decided that I just need to go for it! That's what happened this morning! It occurred to me that it might not take that path. . .and I did not want to miss out! On the news, they were saying that the shuttle would fly over Moffett/NASA Ames at about 10:15am. It was 9:55 when I heard that. I decided to put on my shoes, brush my hair and go! Which means, ...

Taste Buds Unite: Simple Biryani

http://tastebudsunite.blogspot.com/2015/08/simple-biryani.html

A Delectable Collection of Recipes. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Apparently, this is an Indian dish. I got it from a cookbook called The Feed Zone. It's a book of recipes used by chefs who cook for teams in races like the Tour de France and the last few recipes I posted are also from there. I figured I probably ought to give credit somewhere. 2 C rice (I don't recommend brown rice since it doesn't absorb flavors as well, in my opinion). 3 1/2 C water. 2 T light olive oil. 1 onion, sliced into strips. While ...

NEVERBORED - "Life at home is a series of small things that combine to create an eternal family." - Virginia Jenson. Monday, August 10, 2015. Jonathan Dickinson State Park - August Visit. Saturday we went back to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. We must have been the first ones to use the trail in a while, however, because we kept running into spider webs! The horse flies were out as well. However, the company and the scenery made up for those little annoyances. We tried was delicious! Subscribe to: Post C...

Never bored of bubbles

Thursday, 18 July 2013. We have had a couple if grumpy days lately with my baby boy, he is normally so placid and happy but he is suffering with his little teeth. At just under 4 months he started getting really fussy, trying to chew everything and shouting and drooling a lot! I couldn't see anything on his gums but the signs were all there so in the end I got some teething gel for him. It was only when rubbing it on his guns I felt the tooth, right round the back at the bottom. Does it mean anything?

Whisperings of the Spirit

Whisperings of the Spirit. The Spirit does not get our attention by shouting or shaking us with a heavy hand. Rather it whispers. It caresses so gently that if we are preoccupied we may not feel it at all." Boyd K. Packer. Sunday, April 1, 2018. My dad wrote this years ago, and each Easter I like to review it. It's one of my favorite personal traditions, one that doesn't involve food. If this scanned photo is too difficult to read, go here. Wednesday, March 7, 2018. These two - here.
