A month of rehearsals are held at NHS, followed by several days of band camp. The philosophy behind the percussion ensemble is the same as the other aspects of the Newark Band Program: focus on perfecting fundamental techniques while playing challenging literature. The Percussion Ensemble has been part of the NHS band program for a number of years and has maintained a high level of musical excellence, even being asked to perform on the campus of Denison University during the 2012 Concert Season.
